Celebrating the Truth, Beauty, and Power of Film

The Golden Reel International Film Festival (GRIFF) is a quarterly online celebration of cinematic storytelling from around the globe. Rooted in our belief that film is one of the most powerful tools for connection, reflection, and transformation, we spotlight stories that reveal truth, embrace beauty, and ignite emotional and cultural resonance.

With a curated judging process, fair entry policies, and a growing platform for filmmakers at all levels, Golden Reel champions artistic integrity, technical excellence, and originality, no matter the budget or background. From deeply personal short films to bold experimental features, we recognise and reward voices that move us.

Each season, filmmakers compete across a carefully structured range of categories, with awards honouring not only the best overall films but also standout achievements in sound, cinematography, performance, writing, and innovation.

Our Judges:

Golden Reel is proud to be guided by an international panel of judges:

Oswald Hunter (Italy) – Acclaimed actor and director.

John Franklin Stevens (USA) – Founder & CEO of Act With Purpose International, globally sought-after acting coach whose clients appear in The Handmaid’s Tale, Resident Evil, See (with Jason Momoa), and more.

Paul & Nico Kershaw (South Africa) – Co-founders of Gold Talent International, producers, coaches, and talent scouts dedicated to developing global performing arts.

Victor Nikamo (Sweden) – Award-winning Director of Photography and founder of Nikamo Productions.

Whether you’re an emerging creator or an experienced auteur, we invite you to be part of a global community that respects the craft and celebrates the soul of cinema.

The Golden Reel International Film Festival is committed to celebrating excellence and supporting filmmakers long after the festival ends.

Recognition & Visibility:

All winners and selected films are promoted on our official website and social media platforms.

Outstanding works are introduced to industry professionals, creating opportunities for networking, collaboration, and career growth.

Winning films are recommended to other international festivals for further exposure.

Official Distinction:

Each winner receives a Golden Reel International Film Festival Certificate.

Winners have the option to be IMDb credited, ensuring their recognition is officially documented and accessible worldwide.

All winners remain permanently visible on our official website as part of the festival’s legacy archive.

At GRIFF, we believe recognition should open doors. Our mission is not only to award powerful films but also to help them reach new audiences, build connections, and spark future collaborations.

  • Participating our short film in the film festival was an extraordinary and deeply enriching experience. Receiving two such important awards is a deeply valuable recognition for us, rewarding us for the work, passion, and commitment we put into the project.

Even more significant was the critical response: attentive, generous, and full of concrete insights, capable not only of highlighting the short's strengths but also of offering us valuable inspiration to grow and improve as filmmakers. A festival that doesn't just award prizes, but also accompanies and supports the creative journey, demonstrating a rare artistic and human sensitivity. We return home with enthusiasm, gratitude, and a renewed motivation to continue telling stories.

From the onset Golden Reel did an excellent job with communication. Their website was clear and as a first time film producer it was great to have a chance to be part of an audience award. We look forward to getting more opportunities to interact with the festival as it proceeds.
