Calling all aspiring and accomplished student filmmakers! Submit your short film to showcase at the Gilmorehill Short Film Festival. This competition offers a chance to screen your work at our own university cinema and intends to recognize the shorts with a number of awards from different categories. To be screened in succession on the night of the 26th of March, the competition will be a night for celebrating the cinematic work of young and dynamic filmmakers. We are delighted to showcase the talent of our students and await your films.
Enter to be screened and judged by a panel of Glasgow-based film professionals.

There will be an array of prizes (vouchers, cinema tickets and other goodies) for a range of different categories, including best film and best director.

Student’s Criteria for Submission
Applicants must be (or have been in the last two years) a student of the University of Glasgow or an affiliated institution. Open to any degree or year, students from across the university are encouraged to submit their work.

Short Film’s Criteria for Submission
Submitted shorts must be no longer than 30 minutes long. Any style or genre is acceptable for entry, work ranging from experimental to traditional is expected and appreciated. Entries must have been produced within the last two years and is to be uploaded to the platform ‘FilmFreeway’.

Competition Selection Process
The 26th of March is a one-night film festival where we intend to showcase our student’s work. On the night a competition will also take place with a panel of a judges, comprised of respected members of Glasgow’s film community. Films submitted to the festival are automatically entered into the competition and will be up for awards in a range of categories that will acknowledge genre, crew, cast and script. The jury panel will determine the awards, and the winners will be presented with prizes that are soon to be announced.
