All films must be in English or with English subtitles where dialogue present. There is no limitation on when films are produced or which genre; however, films can only be submitted for consideration once unless substantially modified. Please include plot synopsis and year of completion with submission.
Films will be screened from digital files only - no DVDs or other formats will be used for the programs.
Applicants will be notified of acceptance and screening date will be scheduled at the organizers' discretion within 1-3 months.
Films will be presented via digital files or from DVD/Blu-ray. Films produced after 2005 MUST be available for presentation in a high-definition 720p format. If you are unable or unwilling to provide us your film as a digital file for exhibition, please DO NOT SUBMIT your film.
Films must be the original work of the applicants. If a film is based upon another person’s life or upon a book or other underlying work, applicant(s) must secure any necessary rights to make such adaptations. However, it is not necessary to submit the adaptation rights agreements. Neither the film series nor its organizers investigate or certifies to the authenticity of an applicant’s statement of authorship or rights secured. Upon submitting, you certify that you have secured all necessary rights and/or, for documentaries, comply with accepted fair use guidelines of any copyright material.
Applicants are solely responsible for obtaining all necessary rights and permissions for third-party materials included in their films, including but not limited to music, trademarks, logos, copyrights, and other intellectual property rights. Future Archives does not accept liability or responsibility for any violations.
