"FLICKS 4 CHANGE" - Is an interactive film festival with a social conscience. Our mission is to give filmmakers a platform to have their artistic and humanitarian voices heard, while bringing attention to important social issues.

Flicks 4 Change provides a forum to discuss both the films, and the social issues raised after the screening. We are calling on the filmmaking community to use its creativity to inspire change through art. We hope the festival will act as a springboard – the beginning of a ripple effect for continued progress on important social issues.

What qualifies as a "SOCIAL ISSUE"?
Any film addressing a humanitarian, environmental, legal, or cultural challenge facing mankind will be considered. Examples include, homelessness, political systems, election process, gun laws, equal rights, sex trafficking, global warming, alcoholism, drug addiction, clean water, social media, HIV and other infectious diseases, and our healthcare system to name a few.

What genres and formats of films does Flicks 4 Change accept?
All genres including drama, comedy, satire, animation, documentary, sketch / mock commercial, and music video between 0:30 seconds and 20 minutes will be considered.

LIVE EVENTS (TBA due to Covid19): The Festival will consist of a full day program of short and feature length films, discussions and networking. After each of the finalist films is screened, the filmmakers will partake in a Q&A, focusing on the message behind the films. Leaders and major supporters of organisations related to the evening’s film content will also be present to facilitate the discussion. Audience involvement is highly encouraged in these panels.

We thank you for getting involved in making a positive change in the world and our filmmaking community. Whether that means reading about this event, buying a ticket to the screening, or submitting a project, we appreciate your time, and artistic and altruistic contribution. In order to make a positive impact on our community, we have to create together, and communicate collectively. And there’s no more important time than right now.

Making the pivot from "live" to "virtual" has been a challenge for film festivals this year, but Flicks4Change handled it beautifully! The programming was exceptional and we were thrilled to have our short film ODD BIRD included in such an outstanding line-up. A special round of applause to Andrew and James for their personal commitment to making this festival a wonderful experience for audiences and filmmakers alike. Can't wait for next year. Cheers!

  • Terrific festival. Andrew and James do an amazing job of organizing a group of disparate films into groups and panels. They work with authentic care for to choose and promote films that work to make the world better. They approach the festival as an opportunity to educate viewers without preaching. Good experience for new or experiences filmmakers without being intimidating.
