Born in Slovenia in 1997, he has shown an interest in visual arts since childhood. He attended the Secondary School of Design and Photography, majoring in photographic technology. In 2019, he passed the entrance exam at the Academy for Theatre, Radio, Film and Television (AGRFT) and enrolled in the Film and Television Directing program.
His first directorial work was the short film Fabula (2019).
During his studies at AGRFT, Filip directed five short films: Summer on Chengdu Street 19 (2020), Premonition (2020), Our Lives (2020), Cradle (2021), and Faraway Fields (2022). His works have been screened at more than sixty international film festivals.
In 2023, he participated in the Belgrade March Debut Workshop and was selected for the Sarajevo Talents 2023 program, where he honed his skills under the mentorship of international film educator Gyula Gazdag. His film Welcome Home was developed within the Midpoint Institute in the Czech Republic and received financial support from both the Slovenian and Croatian Film Centres.
Among his latest projects is a children’s TV series titled Smrdljivc (2025), wich won at Sarajevo film festival - The Children’s Programme jury award for Best Feature Film/Series.
He is also preparing a short film titled Albania mon Amour and has directed several music videos for various Slovenian bands, contributing to the growth of young, promising artists.
Since 2024, he has been a full member of the Slovenian Directors’ Guild (DSR) and continues to pursue his passion for filmmaking, devoted to creating powerful stories through his unique artistic vision.
