The Filamu International Student Film Festival is an annual event organized by the students of Multimedia University of Kenya. The festival aims to foster creativity, innovation, and excellence in the film industry by providing opportunities for peer review, training, exposure, and evaluation. The festival features a wide range of film genres and provides a platform for emerging filmmakers to showcase their work and gain recognition in the industry. The festival also includes masterclasses, panel discussions, and networking opportunities for the local film community. The Festival is an exciting event that puts Multimedia University of Kenya on the international stage and provides a valuable learning experience for the students involved.

Rules & Terms

1. All film submissions must be original works created by the entrant.
2. Films must at least have English subtitles.
3. Entrants must submit a completed and signed entry form, as well as a digital copy of the film via online submission platform.
4. Entrants must also provide a brief synopsis of their film, a list of credits, a trailer and a still image from the film.
5. Entrants are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions for copyrighted material included in their film.
6. By submitting a film, entrants grant Filamu International Student Film Festival the right to use clips from the film for promotional purposes.
7. Films will be judged on originality, storytelling, technical execution, and overall impact.
8. Winners will be notified by email and announced at the Filamu International Student Film Festival awards ceremony.
9. Prize winners should be present at the awards gala to receive their prizes if possible.
10. The festival reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who does not comply with these rules and guidelines.
11. Submission period is open from 01/02/2023 and closes on 03/03/2023
