The African AI Film Festival is a groundbreaking celebration of African filmmakers and storytellers who are pushing the boundaries of cinema with artificial intelligence. Based in Los Angeles. Our festival amplifies African and diaspora voices using AI tools to tell stories that challenge global narratives. We're looking for bold, innovative films where AI serves the story not the other way around. Categories include Narrative, Documentary, Experimental, Animation, and AI-Native. All genres welcome. All filmmakers welcome.

Rules & Terms:

1. Films must have an African connection — lead filmmaker of African/diaspora heritage, OR film centers African stories, languages, history, or culture, OR African collaboration.

2. AI must be central to the film's creation (generated/augmented video, animation, imagery, voice, music, or script).

3. Length: 1–10 min (Documentary: 5–20 min).

4. Film must be a fully contained, linear narrative.

5. Completed on or after January 1, 2024.

6. Entrants must be 18+.

7. Non-English films must include English subtitles.

8. Format: H.264 .mp4, minimum 1080p, 24–30 fps or streaming link (Vimeo/YouTube unlisted).

9. Entrant must own or have secured all rights to the work.

10. AI tools used must be disclosed at submission.

11. No non-consensual likenesses, deepfakes, hateful, or illegal content.

12. Violations are grounds for disqualification at any stage, including after an award.
