Información General

Maguana Film Festival es un festival cultural e independiente de cine con sede en San Juan de la Maguana, República Dominicana, dedicado a visibilizar nuevas voces, el cine independiente y las historias que promueven el diálogo, la identidad, el territorio, la memoria y la conexión comunitaria.

Al enviar una película al festival, los participantes reconocen y aceptan las siguientes reglas y condiciones.

Elegibilidad

- Las películas deben haber sido finalizadas después del 1 de enero de 2024.
- Se aceptan todos los géneros, incluyendo ficción, documental, animación, cine experimental y cine híbrido.
- Las películas en idiomas distintos al español deberán incluir subtítulos en español.
- Se recomienda que las películas en español incluyan subtítulos en inglés siempre que sea posible.
- Se permiten múltiples inscripciones.
- No se aceptan trabajos en progreso, salvo solicitud expresa del festival.
- El festival se reserva el derecho de determinar la elegibilidad de cualquier proyecto enviado.

Lineamientos de Inscripción

- Las películas deben enviarse a través de FilmFreeway.
- Los enlaces de visualización deberán permanecer activos durante todo el proceso de selección.
- El festival podrá solicitar materiales adicionales como fotografías, afiches, tráiler, press kit y subtítulos en caso de selección oficial.
- Las tarifas de inscripción no son reembolsables.
- Las películas seleccionadas podrán ser exhibidas hasta dos veces durante el festival.

Proceso de Selección

- Todas las películas serán evaluadas por el equipo de programación del festival y/o comités de selección invitados.
- Las selecciones oficiales serán notificadas vía correo electrónico y/o FilmFreeway.
- Las decisiones del comité de selección y del jurado serán definitivas.

Derechos y Permisos

- Al enviar una película, el participante confirma que posee todos los derechos y permisos necesarios para la exhibición pública de la obra.
- El festival no se hace responsable por reclamaciones relacionadas con derechos de autor de las obras enviadas.
- En caso de selección oficial, el festival podrá utilizar fragmentos, tráileres, imágenes, afiches y materiales promocionales para prensa, redes sociales, marketing y promoción del evento.

Formato de Exhibición

- Las películas seleccionadas deberán proporcionar un archivo digital de exhibición en alta calidad.
- Los formatos aceptados y especificaciones técnicas serán comunicados luego de la selección oficial.

Condiciones Generales

- El festival se reserva el derecho de actualizar o modificar estas reglas cuando sea necesario.
- La participación en el festival implica la aceptación total de todas las reglas y términos anteriormente establecidos.

Maguana Film Festival is an independent cultural film festival based in San Juan de la Maguana, Dominican Republic, dedicated to showcasing emerging voices, independent cinema, and stories that encourage dialogue, identity, territory, memory, and community engagement.

By submitting a film to the festival, applicants acknowledge and accept the following rules and regulations.

Eligibility

- Films must have been completed after January 1, 2024.
- All genres are accepted, including fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, and hybrid cinema.
- Films in languages other than Spanish must include Spanish subtitles.
- Spanish-language films are strongly encouraged to include English subtitles whenever possible.
- Multiple submissions are allowed.
- Works-in-progress are not accepted unless specifically requested by the festival organization.
- The festival reserves the right to determine the eligibility of any submitted project.

Submission Guidelines

- Films must be submitted through FilmFreeway.
- Submitted screeners must remain available online throughout the selection process.
- The festival may request additional materials, including stills, posters, trailers, press kits, and subtitles, if the film is officially selected.
- Submission fees are non-refundable.
- Selected films may be screened up to two times during the festival.

Selection Process

- All submissions will be reviewed by the festival programming team and/or invited selection committees.
- Official selections will be notified via email and/or FilmFreeway.
- The decisions of the festival selection committee and jury are final.

Rights & Permissions

- By submitting a film, the applicant confirms that they hold all necessary rights and permissions for public exhibition of the work.
- The festival is not responsible for any copyright infringement claims related to submitted works.
- If selected, the festival may use excerpts, trailers, still images, posters, and promotional materials for press, social media, marketing, and festival-related promotion.
