The International Film Fest Germany is dedicated to films of all genres from all over the world.
Our awards competition is aimed to recognize filmmakers, their hard work and efforts. Once a year we have screenings of curated films which will be shown to a live audience.
All submitted films will be previewed by a team of experienced judges who then evaluate the films during each season.
A range of films will be screened during the festival at theatres in Germany. The main event will be held in Berlin in 2027.

Rules & Terms

- In order to submit a film, you must own the rights or have permission from the owner.
- There is no completion date required.
- Any submitted film that is not in German or English must have English or German subtitles.
- Any film that is not in German must have English or German subtitles in order to be screened.
- Not all the submissions are selected for the official competition and it is up to the discretion of our Judges to make the decisions.
- Films that are not downloadable via Filmfreeway cannot be screened. Format must be HD, mp4 25f/s or DCP.
- A submission can be disqualified if some content is considered inappropriate, for example promotion of xenophobia, depiction of abuse of people or animals.
- Music videos need to have music played by people only visuals can be AI generated.
- Films can be submitted in multiple categories in order to become a multi-award film.
- By submitting your movie, you authorize us to use, distribute and share the poster, trailer, synopsis and movie stills in our social media, online and during the festival.
- By submitting your movie, you authorize us to use the film for screenings at the festival cinemas.
- Multiple submissions and multiple category submissions are accepted.
- The festival reserves the right to change the event's date and the date of the deadline for submissions.
- All fees are non-refundable.
- Submissions cannot be withdrawn after the official selection announcement of each round.
- The filmmaker has liability for any claims that may occur in result of screening the film either live or online.

    Die Bedeutung sozialkritischer Filme liegt darin, der Menschheit eine Botschaft zu vermitteln: Arina, das kleine Mädchen, das mit seiner Mutter vor dem Krieg flieht, wünscht sich: „Die Bomben sollen nicht explodieren, und die Flugzeuge sollen keine Bomben, sondern Menschen transportieren.“ Ich danke den Festivalleitern dafür, dass sie diese Botschaft in den Film aufgenommen und ihn in ihr Programm aufgenommen haben. Ich wünsche viel Erfolg für zukünftige Projekte.

    Title: A budget-friendly boost for your poster! 🎬🇩🇪

    "Our experience with the International Film Fest Germany was quite unique and left us with a smile. If you are looking for massive theatrical crowds in Berlin, this might not be the place. However, if you need a quick, budget-friendly way to decorate your movie poster with an official 'Nominee' laurel, this festival is a champion of efficiency.

    For a modest fee of $15, our film was nominated, allowing us to legally add a nice-looking laurel to our promotional materials without the stress of an actual screening. It is a highly practical business model for indie filmmakers who need social proof.

    On the positive side, the communication from the team was consistent. We regularly received emails with the screening schedule for the finalist films, proving that some cinematic action is indeed happening behind the scenes.

    Recommended for a quick marketing boost, a bit of fun, and an affordable laurel. No hard feelings, just a clever indie shortcut!"

    Hello Dzianis. This was the second year of our festival and we have made every effort to accomodate filmmakers, from starting in the first deadline with zero fee for Germany films and 4 Euros for international ones. We screened 24 short films and 1 feature film. If the filmmakers are not showing up to the festival to receive their awards then there is not much we can do about that, it was well announced several times. It usually takes a few years until festivals become known and people attend, no festival starts with thousands of people straight away. On the other hand starting festivals give you a much better chance to win an award since there is not so much competition. I am a filmmaker myself and I know how hard it is to get an award at a popular festival. At any rate our festival gives filmmakers the chance to have their films screened even if they have very little budget. Considering that there are over 30000 film festivals on filmfreeway and a lot of them in Berlin already it is not unusual that you don't have a huge crowd. Even blockbuster often have next to no audience. On the other hand our festival in Auckland had 240 viewers on 2 days last year and I am sure it will be even more this year. So if you want to get a big crowd in the cinema then maybe submit to our South Pacific Festival. All the best.
