Global Students Film Workshop is hosted by the School of Media at Yanjing Institute of Technology and takes place annually in June during the Chaobai International Short Film Week. The workshop aims to create a platform for young filmmakers worldwide to engage in cross-cultural exchange and hands-on collaboration. Outstanding student filmmakers and their works are invited to China, where they will visit the School of Media at Yanjing Institute of Technology to exchange ideas and explore new possibilities in cinematic storytelling.

The Global Students Film Workshop is dedicated to discovering and nurturing exceptional student directors from around the world. We don’t just screen films; we invest in the future of cinema.

All shortlisted key creators (directors/producers) will have the exclusive opportunity to apply for our New Project Incubator. Once approved, we provide a short film budget of up to 40,000 RMB (approx. $5,500 USD) along with comprehensive production support to bring your vision to life on the ground in China. We invite young filmmakers to share their unique perspectives, push creative boundaries, and embark on an unforgettable filmmaking journey with us.

Submission Materials

One (1) film poster

Two to three (2-3) stills from the film

A trailer of up to 1 minute

Copyright Ownership

The copyright of the submitted film remains with the creator.

The organizing committee reserves the right to use excerpts from the film for festival-related activities, including but not limited to screenings, promotions, and publicity. Proper credit will be given when used.

Originality

All submitted films must be original works and must not involve plagiarism, copyright infringement, or unauthorized use of third-party materials.

If an entry is found to be in violation of copyright laws, the organizing committee reserves the right to disqualify the film and take legal action if necessary.

Legal Responsibility

Participants must ensure that all submitted content and information is truthful, accurate, and complete.

Any legal disputes arising from incorrect or misleading information in the submission shall be the sole responsibility of the participant.
