HanseFiSH Music Video Award is the Northern European answer to the MTV Video Music Awards.

Together with the Hanse Sail, the FiSH Filmfestival presents international music videos from the Baltic Sea region. Filmmakers and musicians from Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland are invited to submit their music videos for the third Northern European music video competition in 2026. The best video from each country secures its place in the competition.

The German entry will be announced during the FiSH Film Festival. The winner of the music video competition PopFiSH will be given the opportunity to take part in the Hanse FiSH.

You can win a performance for your music video artist at the next Hanse Sail.
The Hanse Sail Rostock is the largest annual traditional sailing event in the world. The event offers a full program at various event areas throughout Rostock and unique maritime experiences around the traditional and tall ships and the maritime cosmos.

Rules & Terms

Filmmakers, bands and musicians from Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland can submit their music videos via our website. The only requirement: The videos must not be older than two years (completed after January 2024).

We look forward to videos that show a fair, modern image of social categories such as gender, origin or age. Sexualized or racialized insults end up in the garbage can instead of on the screen!

    We had the best time at Hanse Fish. It’s a small beach festival, but super cozy. The organisers were amazing and cared about the filmmakers, which made the whole thing feel really personal. The accommodation was great, right by the beach, 5 minutes from the event. Rostock is such a hidden gem too, worth visiting. We won Best Music Video and ended the night with a beach party and fireworks. Magical!
