1. General Terms:
1.1. By submitting your film to the Milan Indie Film Festival (MIFF), you acknowledge and agree to adhere to all terms and conditions set forth herein.
1.2. The festival reserves the right to amend these terms. Any changes will be communicated to participants via email at least 30 days before the event date. In the event of any formal amendments to the rules by MIFF, participants will retain the right to withdraw from the festival with a full refund of any fees paid.
2. Eligibility:
2.1. All genres and formats are accepted. However, the festival focuses on promoting diversity and inclusion, so special consideration is given to films produced by women and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
2.2. Films must have been completed after January 1st of 2020 to be eligible for the current year's festival.
3. Submission Guidelines:
3.1. Each submission must include a completed entry form and the applicable entry fee. Reduced fees are available for women filmmakers and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
3.2. Submission fees are non-refundable.
3.3. Films not in English or Italian must be subtitled in English or Italian.
4. Selection Process:
4.1. All submitted films will be reviewed by a selection committee appointed by Milan Indie Film Festival.
4.2. Selection decisions are final and will be communicated to participants via email.
4.3. Your film may be selected for another category, if you do not win in the category you initially submitted your film for. This is our gift to all filmmakers that participate in our festival, regardless of the payment they make.
5. Rights and Permissions:
5.1. By submitting a film, the participant confirms that they hold all necessary rights and permissions for the film and its content, including music, visuals, and intellectual property.
5.2. Participants grant us the right to use clips, trailers, and promotional materials from the submitted films for marketing and promotional purposes.
6. Screening and Distribution:
6.1. Milan Indie Film Festival reserves the right to determine the date, time, and location of screenings.
6.2. Participation in Milan Indie Film Festival does not guarantee any form of distribution or compensation beyond the festival's promotional efforts.
7. Privacy and Confidentiality:
7.1. Milan Indie Film Festival will collect personal data from participants solely for the purpose of festival administration and will not share this information with third parties without consent.
7.2. Participants agree to the use of their names and likenesses in promotional materials related to the festival.
8. Disqualification:
8.1. Milan Indie Film Festival reserves the right to disqualify any film that does not comply with these terms or that is deemed inappropriate or offensive.
8.2. Disqualified films will not be eligible for refunds of any kind.
9. Governing Law:
9.1. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Italy.
9.2. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Milan, Italy.
