Music Video, Visual Arts: Music videos or visual arts in video format for under 10mins.
Student Films: For films under 20mins created by Students.
Submission Requirements and Guidelines
Rights and Clearances: Submitters must possess all necessary legal rights and clearances for the film.
Intellectual Property: Filmmakers retain all rights to their submissions and intellectual property.
Eligibility:
We welcome films of any genre and in any language from around the world.
There are no specific completion date requirements or premiere stipulations for submission, although a UK premiere is preferred.
Features and shorts currently available for commercial streaming are not eligible.
Submission Method: All films must be submitted electronically via FilmFreeway.
Submission Deadline Compliance: Ensure all materials are submitted by the deadline. Late submissions may incur higher fees or be withdrawn.
Submission Fee: All submission fees are in UK pounds and are non-refundable.
Language: Non-English films must include English subtitles.
Screeners: Keep screener links and passwords current and promptly inform LIFFF of any changes. Test media prior to submission.
Multiple Submissions: Filmmakers can submit multiple films, provided each is submitted separately and meets LIFFF guidelines.
Resubmissions: Films previously submitted can be resubmitted if significant changes have been made, accompanied by a brief letter detailing the changes.
Student Submissions: Students must provide a valid ID or enrollment verification.
Submission Confirmation: Contact LIFFF to confirm receipt of your submission. FilmFreeway users can check their submission status online.
If Accepted:
Accepted filmmakers will be notified via email. Filmmakers must confirm their participation by the given deadline, or their spot in the line-up may be forfeited.
Accepted filmmakers must be the authors of their submitted work and be prepared to sign an agreement stating they own all rights to their film and its components ahead of screening at The London International Fantastic Film Festival.
All films will be accessible for ticketed online screening throughout the festival. Additionally, a select few will also be showcased at live venue screenings
If accepted, entrants are responsible for sending their festival exhibition copy, trailer, screener link, press stills, and press kit in a timely manner.
All materials will be handled digitally.
Accepted filmmakers receive complimentary invitations to attend the festival.
We do not provide screening fees.
Privacy: Personal contact information will remain confidential.
Promotional Use: LIFFF may use film images for promotional purposes.
Awards Decisions: All decisions on award winners are final.
Event Changes: LIFFF reserves the right to alter event formats in response to health and safety concerns or governmental directives. No refunds for submissions will be issued in such cases.
