The Rajarata Independent Film Festival is a celebration of cinema in the heart of Sri Lanka’s ancient city, Anuradhapura. Dedicated to showcasing bold, thought-provoking, and artistically powerful films, the festival provides a platform for both emerging and established filmmakers from around the world.

Our mission is to foster dialogue between cultures, highlight diverse voices, and encourage innovative storytelling. We believe cinema is not only entertainment, but also a vital art form that reflects the human experience and connects communities.

With screenings, discussions, and special programs, the Rajarata Film Festival offers audiences and creators a unique meeting ground where art, culture, and history converge. Set against the backdrop of Sri Lanka’s rich heritage, the festival is committed to supporting independent cinema and inspiring a new generation of filmmakers and film lovers.
