Engativá is the third most populous locality in Bogotá; however, it is one of the least developed in terms of culture and cinema. There is talk of the cultural movements in Bosa, Kennedy, Ciudad Bolívar, and Suba, but Engativá is not mentioned. We are organizing this event to put the locality on the national and international map, with a large-scale event and outstanding films from around the world. Join us in making Engativá the epicenter of cinema in Bogotá and turning the Engativá International Film Festival into one of the country's most important film events.

Engativá es la tercera localidad más habitada de Bogotá; sin embargo, es una de las menos desarrolladas en términos culturales y cinematográficos. Se habla del movimiento cultural de Bosa, Kennedy, Ciudad Bolívar y Suba, pero no se menciona a Engativá. Organizamos este evento para poner a la localidad en el panorama nacional e internacional, con un evento de gran magnitud y películas destacadas de todo el mundo. Call Terms:
Engativá International Film Festival

1. DATE AND PLACE OF CONTEST: From 21 to 25 of May of 2024, in the city of Bogotá, Colombia.

2. DATE OF RECEPTION: From 8 of June until 15 of December of 2023, it will be split in Three Deadlines; Early Deadline (from 8 until 25 of June of 2023), Regular Deadline (from 26 of June until 15 of November of 2023), and Late Deadline (from 16 of November until 15 of December of 2023)

3. DATE OF NOTIFICATION OF OFFICIAL SELECTION AND LAUNCH OF THE FILM FESTIVAL: The notification of the selected films of the film festival will be the 10 of April of 2024 by Email. The launch of the Festival and the socialization of the Official Selection to the press and different media will be in April with the announcement of the allies, sponsors, screening site, partners, the official image, trailer and jury.

4. CATEGORIES AND COSTS OF CONTEST: The Film FESTIVAL will split in the next categories:
National Fiction Short Film: Fiction films between 1 and 30 minutes long, whether Live action or animated, free-themed, made in Colombia or by Colombians.
National Documentary Short Film: Documentary films between 1 and 30 minutes long, Live action or animated, free-themed, made in Colombia or by Colombians.
National Feature Film: Fiction or Documentary films longer than 60 minutes, whether Live action or animated, free-themed, made in Colombia or by Colombians
International Fiction Short Film: Fiction films between 1 and 30 minutes long, whether Live action or animated,free-themed, made by anyone in any country of the world.
International Documentary Short Film: Documentary films between 1 and 30 minutes long, Live action or animated, free-themed, made by anyone in any country of the world.
International Feature Film: Fiction or Documentary films longer than 60 minutes, whether Live action or animated, free-themed, made by anyone in any country of the world.
‘Engativá de Película’: Fiction or documentary film of any duration, technique or theme made in the town of Engativá*

*For local films, proof of their production in the locality will be required, whether these are videos or photographs from behind the scenes or certificates of residence in the locality, any film that is registered in this category and does not certify its production in Engativá will be disqualified automatically, without the right of reply or change of category by the curatorial team.

5. AWARDS: The following awards will be given:
Best National Fiction Short Film
Best National Documentary Short Film
Best National Feature Film
Best International Fiction Short Film
Best International Documentary Short Film
Best International Feature Film
Best Local Film

These awards will have a trophy presented at the awards ceremony to the attending filmmakers. If the filmmaker is not present at the award ceremony, they will be responsible for the shipping costs.

Additionally, the jury will select the best film for the 'Grand Jury Prize' in both the short film and feature film categories. These winners will receive a cash prize to be determined in the future.

6. PARTICIPATING WORKS: Films from around the world are eligible to participate. If the film is in English or a language other than Spanish, subtitles in Spanish are required. If the film is in Spanish, no further requirements are needed. Only works from 2021 onwards will be accepted.

7. REGISTRATION: Applicants must register through FilmFreeway or FestHome and complete the corresponding registration. Films sent through any other means will not be accepted.

8. SUBMISSION OF WORKS: To submit works, the digital high-definition file of the film (.MOV or .MP4 in h.264 or h.265) must be uploaded to a virtual platform (Dropbox, PCloud, Google Drive, etc.) and the download link must be sent via email. The email should also include the document granting the FESTIVAL the right to exhibit the material.

9. RECOGNITION: Official recognitions (Official Selection certificates) will be awarded to the selected works in each category after the announcement. The corresponding laurels will be sent for Press kits and posters.

10. REQUIREMENTS: In addition to the high-quality video file, a basic Press Kit (Poster, 5 film stills, Banner, Director's photograph, Trailer) is required. If selected, the applicant must include the FESTIVAL laurels on the poster and banner.

11. PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS: By registering, the responsible parties of the films selected in the Official Selection agree to have their films screened in different activities during the 2024 edition of the FESTIVAL. They also agree to the use of image excerpts from the films for promotional purposes of the FESTIVAL through media outlets. The submitted material will not be returned and will become part of the FESTIVAL's archive. The FESTIVAL is not responsible for any possible copyright infringements, which are the responsibility of the person submitting the work. Shipping costs for submitting the works will be the participants' responsibility.

12. JURY: The jury will consist of specialized filmmakers from across the country or abroad. It will be announced in April 2024 during the festival launch, along with the official selection of the FESTIVAL. The jury will decide the winners of each main category and the 'Grand Jury Prize

BASES DE LA CONVOCATORIA
Festival Internacional de Cine de Engativá

1. FECHA Y LUGAR DEL CERTAMEN: Del 21 al 25 de Mayo del 2024, en la ciudad de Bogotá, Colombia.

2. FECHA DE RECEPCIÓN: Desde el 8 de Junio hasta el 15 de Diciembre de 2023, estará dividido en tres deadlines: Early Deadline (Del 8 al 25 de Junio de 2023), Regular Deadline (del 26 de Junio al 15 de Noviembre de 2023), y Late Deadline (Del 16 de Noviembre al 15 de Diciembre de 2023).

3. FECHA DE NOTIFICACIÓN DE LA SELECCIÓN OFICIAL Y LANZAMIENTO DEL FESTIVAL: La notificación de los seleccionados en el festival se hará el 10 de Abril de 2024 por medio de un correo electrónico. El Lanzamiento del Festival y la socialización de la Selección Oficial a la prensa y diferentes medios se hará en Abril de 2024, junto con el anuncio de los aliados, patrocinadores, lugares de proyección, socios, imagen oficial, trailer, y jurado.

4. CATEGORÍAS Y COSTOS DEL CERTAMEN: El Festival se dividirá en las siguientes categorías:

Cortometraje Nacional de Ficción: Película de ficción de entre 1 y 30 minutos de duración, ya sean Live Action o Animación de temática libre, realizados en Colombia o por Colombianos.
Cortometraje Nacional Documental: Película documental de entre 1 y 30 minutos de duración, ya sean Live Action o Animación de temática libre, realizados en Colombia o por Colombianos.
Largometraje Nacional: Película de ficción o documentales con más de 60 minutos de duración, ya sean Live Action o Animación de temática libre, realizados en Colombia o por Colombianos.
Cortometraje Internacional de Ficción: Película de ficción de entre 1 y 30 minutos de duración, ya sean Live Action o Animación de temática libre, realizados por cualquier persona en cualquier país del mundo.
Cortometraje Internacional Documental: Película documental de entre 1 y 30 minutos de duración, ya sean Live Action o Animación de temática libre, realizados en Colombia o por Colombianos.
Largometraje Internacional: Película de ficción o documental con más de 60 minutos de duración, ya sean Live Action o Animación de temática libre, realizados en Colombia o por Colombianos.
Engativa de Película: Película de ficción o documental de cualquier duración, técnica o temática realizada en la localidad de Engativá*

*Para las películas locales se requerirán pruebas de su realización en la localidad, ya sean éstas videos o fotografías de detrás de cámaras o certificados de residencia de la localidad, cualquier película que se inscriba en esta categoría y no certifique su realización en Engativá será descalificada automáticamente, sin derecho a réplica o cambio de categoría por parte del equipo curatorial.

5. PREMIOS: Se entregarán los siguientes premios:

Estos premios tendrán un trofeo que se entregará en la ceremonia de premiación a los realizadores presentes, si el realizador no está presente en la premiación deberá pagar los gastos de envío.

A su vez el jurado escogerá la mejor película en el ‘Gran premio del Jurado’ tanto para cortometrajes como para largometrajes, recibiendo estos ganadores un premio en Metálico a determinar en un futuro.

6. OBRAS PARTICIPANTES: Podrán participar películas de todo el mundo. Si la película está en inglés o un idioma diferente al español se requieren subtítulos en español. Si la película está en español no se requiere nada más. Solo se aceptan obras del año 2021 en adelante.

7. INSCRIPCIÓN: Los postulantes deberán ingresar en FilmFreeway o FestHome y diligenciar la inscripción correspondiente, no se aceptarán películas enviadas por ningún otro medio.

8. ENVÍO DE LAS OBRAS: Para el envío de obras se deberá subir el archivo digital de la película en alta definición (.MOV o .MP4 en h.264 o h.265) a una plataforma virtual (Dropbox, PCloud, Google Drive, ETC…) y enviar vía email el enlace de descarga. A su vez en el correo deberá anexar el documento donde el FESTIVAL tiene el derecho de exhibición de su material.

9. RECONOCIMIENTO: Se hará entrega de reconocimientos oficiales (certificación de Selección Oficial) a las obras seleccionadas de cada categoría después de ser anunciadas, se enviaran los laureles correspondientes para los Press kit y póster.

10. REQUERIMIENTOS: A parte del archivo de video en alta calidad, se requiere un Press Kit básico (Póster, 5 fotogramas de la película, Banner, Fotografía del director, Trailer). En caso de quedar seleccionado, el postulante deberá colocar los laureles del FESTIVAL en el póster y banner.

11. CONDICIONES DE PARTICIPACIÓN: Por el hecho de realizar la inscripción, los responsables de las películas clasificadas en la Selección Oficial, aceptan que sus películas se exhiban en las diferentes actividades enmarcadas en el desarrollo del FESTIVAL en su edición 2024. Así como utilizar extractos de imágenes de las películas para fines promocionales del FESTIVAL a través de medios de comunicación. El material enviado no será devuelto y pasará a formar parte del archivo del FESTIVAL. El FESTIVAL no se hace responsable de posibles infracciones relacionadas a derechos de autor, siendo éstas responsabilidad de quien inscribe la obra. Los gastos de envío para la inscripción de las obras serán responsabilidad de los participantes.

12. JURADO: El jurado se compondrá por cineastas especializados de todo el país o del exterior, este se dará a conocer en Febrero de 2024 en el lanzamiento del festival con el anuncio de la selección oficial del FESTIVAL. El jurado decidirá los ganadores de cada categoría principal y del ‘Gran premio del Jurado’. La decisión del jurado será inapelable.
