Mudgee Uncorked International Film Festival brings short films from around the world to Regional Australia. Mudgee is one of Australia’s most celebrated wine regions and our festival strives on pairing global cinema with exceptional local wine, all beneath the stars at one of Mudgee’s most picturesque wineries.

Our inaugural year was a sold-out success. We rolled out the red carpet to a packed audience and awarded over $1500 in cash prizes to our winners of Best Short Film and the Audience Choice award, both sponsored by local businesses here in town.

Best Short, Horror, and Best LGBT all curated into a 13 film program that the town not only celebrated on the night, but has been raving about on socials since.

As we move into our second year, our focus remains simple: Keep submission fees low so that all filmmakers can have access to the event. Regardless of your film budget, if you made your film with passion, we want to see it! We want your energy focused on the work itself, not on how to afford to have it seen.

Each selected film is judged with care across story, performance, craft and impact. We value originality. We value risk. We value perspective. The audience also decides on the night which film resonated the most with them. The award is truly decided by the locals that live here.
