SIMI Film Fest is different. Here, filmmakers don’t just screen their work — they step into an immersive world of opportunity, mentorship, and celebration.

New in 2026, the SIMIFF Jury Prize will award one standout film a THREE MONTH MENTORSHIP with Matt Smith, Agent at CAA — offering real-world guidance on career strategy, representation, and next-step opportunities.

Films submitted with orchestral or orchestral-style scores are automatically considered by our judges for inclusion in the SIMIFF Film Music Concert. In addition, composers may submit scores independently for consideration. Selected works will be performed live by the Simi Valley Symphony Orchestra during the festival — a rare opportunity to hear your music brought to life in concert.

At SIMIFF, every craft is honored. From direction and writing to cinematography, editing, sound, VFX, stunts, hair and makeup, wardrobe, and beyond — we recognize the artistry and dedication that bring stories to life on screen.

From red carpet arrivals and live orchestra performances to 1-on-1 meetings with Hollywood professionals, SIMIFF offers a rare bridge between the independent spirit and the industry itself. Filmmakers gain access to exclusive filming location field trips, professional panels, and networking experiences designed to advance your career and fuel your next creative leap.

Alongside its film screenings, this year’s SIMI Film Fest proudly includes the SIMI Youth Film Fest — all presented within nine inspiring days of events.

Experience the magic of film music through our live orchestral concert, featuring original scores from SIMIFF-selected films alongside timeless classics from Hollywood’s golden era, performed by the Simi Valley Symphony Orchestra.

Join us at SIMIFF, where filmmakers are not just seen — they’re respected, honored, inspired, and empowered to grow.

Overall, great festival. You should definitely submit and/or attend whether you live in the area or not. This festival goes well above and beyond just being a screening; there is a limo ride for filmmakers, industry Q&A panels, a great theatre lobby to network at, commemorative hand print tiles they make of the filmmakers, and just a generally great atmosphere. Plus, there's a whole host of varied awards for different disciplines. My brother and I got offered 4 separate paid gigs from connections we made at this festival. Well worth going to, it has more than paid for itself in experience and jobs. There could not be better people than Joe and Katie to run this event.

  • One of the absolute BEST festivals to premiere a film. Great organizers who really care about the filmmakers. Fun, professional, and generous! We were honored to premiere ASK THE BLESSING here and for receiving two special nominations. We look forward to submitting again in the future. Thank you for a wonderful event!

I had such a wonderful experience at the Simi Film Fest. It was one of the festivals where I felt the most cared for as a filmmaker, from the beautiful theater to the large audience they brought in, to the award ceremony, the decorations with every short film highlighted, and the personalized kit with our film names... they made everything feel extra special. Also, the live orchestra concert was absolutely moving. Truly an unforgettable experience. ❤️

It was my very first festival, and honestly, I’ll remember it for the rest of my life. The atmosphere was amazing, with genuine recognition for every filmmaker (not just the winners), incredible encounters, discoveries of filming locations, tips for shooting in the region—so many things! And above all, everything was done with remarkable kindness. An amazing team, thank you Katie and Joe!
