A – Pueden participar todos aquellos cortometrajes realizados desde 2024 hasta el presente, grabados en cualquier soporte. Los trabajos solo podrán enviarse de manera on line. Para esto, se encuentra a disposición la plataforma FilmFreeway - https://filmfreeway.com/animacioncarton - Desde esta plataforma podrán enviar screeners de los trabajos y completar allí mismo el formulario de inscripción correspondiente. Se debe subir el archivo con extensión .mov o .mp4, resolución 1920 x 1080 p, full HD, codificación H264 con una calidad de hasta 2 GB, sin marca de agua. La inscripción será GRATUITA para los realizadores argentinos e internacionales. NO SE ACEPTARÁN TRABAJOS ENVIADOS POR OTRA VÍA.
B- Los autores pueden ser de cualquier nacionalidad. Los trabajos realizados en idiomas distintos del español deberán estar acompañados de SUBTÍTULOS EN ESPAÑOL, los cuales deberán formar parte de la imagen o en un archivo con extensión .srt.
C- Se aceptarán hasta 3 (tres) obras por realizador y por categoría.
D- Los trabajos se reciben desde el 17 de Noviembre de 2025 hasta el 30 de junio de 2026. No se aceptarán trabajos presentados después de la fecha mencionada.
E- Junto con la obra a concursar, deberá incluirse:
• Dos (2) fotografías del corto con una calidad mínima de 300 dpi.
• Una (1) fotografía del director/es.
• Una (1) imagen del afiche del cortometraje, si lo hubiere.
• Trailer del cortometraje, si lo tuviere.
• Redes sociales del corto, si las tuviere
• Ficha de inscripción completa.
Por su sola participación el director y/o productor de la obra acepta que la misma sea incluida en la videoteca de CARTÓN y autorizan su reproducción en futuras muestras itinerantes.
F– Los cortometrajes podrán ser inscriptos en alguna de las siguientes categorías:
• Ficción / Narrativo
• Experimental / Videoarte
• Videoclip
• Microcortos (hasta 3 minutos)
• Series (Ver inciso “G”)
• Estudiantes de animación
• Talleres de formación
G – Categoría Serie. A diferencia de las otras categorías, aquí se aceptará material desde 2023 en adelante. Se admitirá la participación de un capítulo por serie. Los realizaores/as o productores/as deberán decidir qué episodio enviarán a la competencia. Se aceptan webseries.
H- La duración de los cortos no debe superar en ningún caso los 15 (quince) minutos. Pasado ese límite, la obra quedará fuera de competencia. Dependerá del Comité Organizativo, a cargo de la preselección, la decisión de proyectar el trabajo fuera de competencia.
I- Los realizadores autorizarán el uso del material enviado con motivos de la promoción del Festival y asumen la autoría de los cortometrajes y se comprometen a no presentar materiales audiovisuales y/o fonografías sobre los que no tengan derechos de uso. Los derechos de exhibición corren por cuenta del Festival y no se pagarán derechos de pantalla. Por otra parte, la organización del Festival no se hace responsable de las obras ni del uso inadecuado de los derechos de propiedad intelectual por parte de los autores. El Festival no dará ningún tipo de retribución económica a los participantes y/o ganadores.
J- La organización del Festival realizará una preselección del material recibido. El material que quede seleccionado se destinará a las secciones Competencia Oficial y Muestra Oficial (no competitiva) y las decisiones al respecto serán inapelables. La lista de cortometrajes seleccionados se hará pública la segunda semana de octubre de 2026 y los realizadores cuyas obras queden en concurso serán informados por e-mail sobre el día en que será exhibido su trabajo. La organización se reserva el derecho de reubicar una obra en otra categoría en caso de corresponder o considerarlo pertinente.
K- El comité organizador nombrará un Jurado de premiación entre personalidades destacadas del medio, quienes otorgarán los premios a las categorías competitivas.
L- Los premios estarán divididos de la siguiente manera:
• Mejor Corto Narrativo Argentino
• Mejor Corto Narrativo Internacional
• Mejor Videoclip Argentino
• Mejor Videoclip Internacional
• Mejor Corto Experimental / Videoarte Argentino
• Mejor Corto Experimental / Videoarte Internacional
• Mejor Microcorto Argentino
• Mejor Microcorto Internacional
• Mejor Serie argentina
• Mejor Serie internacional
• Mejor Corto realizado por estudiantes de animación de argentina
• Mejor Corto realizado por estudiantes de animación internacional
• Menciones especiales
Los premios pueden declararse desiertos y el fallo del Jurado será inapelable. En todos los casos (salvo las menciones), se entregará diploma y/o estatuilla. En el caso de sumarse nuevos premios a través de sponsors, los mismos serán anunciados antes del comienzo del Festival.
M- El anuncio y premiación se realizará durante la jornada de clausura del Festival. Los cortometrajes ganadores se comprometen a incorporar a sus créditos iniciales el premio obtenido acompañado del logo del Festival.
IMPORTANTE: No se aceptará material que no cumpla con cualquiera de las disposiciones de estas Bases. El mero hecho de no cumplir con los requisitos de presentación dejará el material fuera de competencia. Con la sola inscripción del material se asume el conocimiento y la aceptación de las bases y condiciones.
ENGLISH:
A – All short films completed from 2024 to the present may participate, regardless of the recording format. Works may only be submitted online. For this purpose, the FilmFreeway platform is available at https://filmfreeway.com/animacioncarton
. Through this platform, entrants may upload screeners of their works and complete the corresponding submission form. Files must be uploaded in .mov or .mp4 format, 1920 x 1080p resolution, Full HD, H264 encoding, with a maximum file size of 2 GB, and without watermarks. Submission is FREE for both Argentine and international filmmakers. WORKS SUBMITTED THROUGH ANY OTHER MEANS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
B – Authors may be of any nationality. Works produced in languages other than Spanish must include SPANISH SUBTITLES, either burned into the image or provided in an .srt file.
C – Up to three (3) works per filmmaker and per category will be accepted.
D – Works will be accepted from November 17, 2025, until June 30, 2026. Works submitted after this date will not be considered.
E – Along with the submitted work, the following materials must be included:
• Two (2) still images from the film (minimum 300 dpi).
• One (1) photograph of the director(s).
• One (1) poster image of the short film, if available.
• Trailer of the short film, if available.
• Social media links for the film, if available.
• Completed submission form.
By participating, the director and/or producer agrees that the work may be included in CARTÓN’s video library and authorizes its exhibition in future touring showcases.
F – Short films may be submitted to one of the following categories:
• Fiction / Narrative
• Experimental / Video Art
• Music Video
• Micro-shorts (up to 3 minutes)
• Series (See section “G”)
• Animation Students
• Training Workshops
G – Series Category. Unlike the other categories, this section accepts works completed from 2023 onward. Only one episode per series may be submitted. Directors and/or producers must choose which episode they wish to send. Webseries are accepted.
H – The duration of the short films must not exceed fifteen (15) minutes under any circumstances. Works exceeding this limit will be disqualified. The Organizing Committee, in charge of the preselection, may decide to screen the film out of competition.
I – Filmmakers authorize the use of the submitted material for the Festival’s promotional purposes and assume full authorship of the short film, committing not to submit audiovisual or phonographic materials for which they lack usage rights. Exhibition rights fall under the Festival’s responsibility, and no screening fees will be paid. Furthermore, the Festival organization is not responsible for the works nor for any improper use of intellectual property rights by the authors. The Festival will not provide any financial compensation to participants and/or winners.
J – The Festival organization will conduct a preselection of the received material. Selected works will be assigned to the Official Competition or to the Official Showcase (non-competitive). All decisions in this regard are final. The list of selected short films will be published during the second week of October 2026, and the filmmakers whose works are selected for competition will be notified by email about the scheduled screening date. The organization reserves the right to relocate a work to another category if deemed appropriate.
K – The organizing committee will appoint an awards jury composed of distinguished professionals from the field, who will grant the prizes for the competitive categories.
L – Awards will be distributed as follows:

Awards may be declared void, and the Jury’s decisions are final. In all cases (except special mentions), a diploma and/or statuette will be awarded. If additional prizes are incorporated through sponsors, they will be announced prior to the beginning of the Festival.
M – The award announcements and prize ceremony will take place during the Festival’s closing event. Winning short films must include the award received in their opening credits, accompanied by the Festival’s logo.
IMPORTANT: Materials that fail to comply with any part of these regulations will not be accepted. Failure to meet the submission requirements will result in automatic disqualification. By submitting a work, the entrant acknowledges and accepts all terms and conditions of these rules.
