X International Short Film Festival of Pineda de Mar

The CINEMART Organizing Committee, in a meeting held on November 9, 2023, approves the convening of the 10th edition of the Pineda de Mar International Short Film Festival for the year 2024 and establishes that the new rules with which to govern are the following:

RULES OF THE TENTH EDITION OF THE PINEDA DE MAR INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL 2024.
The Festival is organized by the CinemArt Association of Pineda de Mar, it is an international festival with the aim of promoting a specific space for the discovery, screening and dissemination of short films.
The main theme of the festival is comedy; However, the subject matter and genre of the productions is free. Quality and originality will be prioritized as the main objective, and that the production is unpublished.
The X Pineda de Mar International Short Film Festival will be held from September 23 to September 28, 2024.
The program of the 2024 Pineda de Mar International Short Film Festival. It will integrate different activities focused on publicizing the selected short films and promoting different aspects of the world of cinema in Pineda de Mar, with the collaboration of the City Council of Pineda de Mar and local entities.
The closing ceremony and awards ceremony of the Festival will take place on September 28, 2024 at the Pineda de Mar Auditorium.
- Any person or legal entity can participate, individually or collectively, with no age limit, and can be done with any of the following formats: HD, Full HD and 4K. (mpg, mp4, ...)
- Productions must have been made after January 1, 2023.
- They can be made in any language, but necessarily subtitled in Spanish or Catalan.
- Short films in Spanish or Catalan must be subtitled in English.
- The duration of the short films will be less than 30 min. Credits included.

The registration and reception period for productions begins on December 1, 2023.
The deadline for registration and reception of productions is March 31, 2024.
Works of an advertising or tourist nature will not be admitted, nor those that use non-original material in more than 10% of the total work. Works that do not have the necessary technical quality for a correct visualization will not be accepted either.
Authors must ensure that the content of their work does not infringe the intellectual property rights, image rights or other rights of third parties, exonerating the Organizing Committee from any legal liability.
The selected productions will be publicly screened during the days of the Festival, with the understanding that their authors or producers authorize the screening. Under no circumstances is the payment of screening fees contemplated. Admission to the Festival's screenings in the Auditorium is completely free.
The Festival will be able to use the images of the short films as promotion of the festival regardless of the year.
The Jury:
The CinemArt Organizing Committee will appoint a Jury made up of 6 or more people.
 
The prizes will be as follows:
"VILLA DE PINEDA" for Best Short Film 600 €
"JOSEP MARTÍN" for Best Comedy 300 €
Best Short Film in Catalan 300 €
Audience Award 300 €
"BEST NEW PERFORMANCE" 300 €

A trophy will be awarded to accredit the prize won.

The Jury will have the power to vacate the prize or prizes it deems appropriate, as well as to award a special trophy to highlight technical and/or artistic aspects of any of the works in competition. Their decisions will be final.
The OFFICIAL SELECTION will be made public on the Festival's website during the month of June 2024. The works of the submitted works may remain in the possession of the organization, which reserves the right to use them as promotional material for the Festival. Only.
The production companies accept that, in the event of obtaining any of the prizes awarded, they will include a written reference of the award at the beginning of each and every one of the copies of the film that they distribute for exhibition in theaters and/or in audiovisual competitions, as well as in all printed informative and promotional material. This reference will consist of a text with the type of award received, invariably accompanied by the image of the winners that will be provided by the Organizing Committee. The cost will not be borne by the Festival.
In order to receive the amount of the prizes, it is essential to attend the closing gala of CINEMART. In the event that the interested party is unable to attend, a representative must attend on their behalf and/or send us a thank you video.
Travel expenses are not included. On the night of the closing gala, the organization will take care of the accommodation of the winners.
The financial endowments will be paid within a maximum period of 1 month from the official ceremony of delivery of the prizes and by bank transfer. The amount of the prize will be deducted from the withholdings and taxes determined by current law.
Any question that arises during the Festival, not contemplated in these RULES, will be decided by the Organizing Committee and the Jury. Participation in the Festival implies acceptance of these RULES.
