Afrobrix 2023 è un festival di musica, arte e cinema che vuole celebrare l’afrodiscendenza, con particolare interesse verso il contesto europeo. Le persone afroeuropee, siano esse della diaspora o nativi europei (seconde, terze generazioni o più) hanno questioni, quesiti, temi e proposte da presentare al pubblico e alla riflessione sociale, politica ed economica.
Afrobrix Film Festival, come per l'edizione 2021, selezionerà una decina di cortometraggi, che saranno giudicati dal pubblico e da giurie per altri premi speciali. La terza edizione di Afrobrix Sezione cinema si svolgerà dal 16 al 18 dicembre 2022 (la date potrebbero cambiare), insieme ad incontri, presentazioni di libri e conferenze.
Il festival sceglierà cortometraggi che siano storie afrodiscendenti e che esplorino l’appartenenza identitaria plurima e multiforme, collettiva o soggettiva delle persone afrodiscententi. Cosa significa sentirsi fortemente parte di più contesti culturali, di più mondi e/o a nessuno in particolare? Quale mondo culturale mi viene attribuito dagli altri? Quali senti tuoi? Il concorso è rivolto ad autori e autrici residenti in Europa, che abbiano legami con il continente africano. Sono inoltre accettate opere che affrontano il tema delle migrazioni forzate dall’Africa verso l’Europa, con particolare attenzione verso l’autonarrazione e la raccolta di voci di persone che hanno vissuto la migrazione in prima persona.

Afrobrix 2022 is a festival of music, art and cinema that wants to celebrate the African descent culture, with particular interest in the European context. Afro-European people, whether they are from the diaspora or native Europeans (second, third generations or more) have questions, queries, themes and proposals to present to the public and to social, political and economic reflection.
Afrobrix Film Festival, as for the 2021 edition, will select a dozen short films, which will be judged by the public and juries for other special prizes. The third edition of Afrobrix, the cinema section will take place from 16 to 18 December (dates can change), together with meetings, book presentations and conferences.
The festival will choose short films that are African -descent stories and that explore the plural and multifaceted, collective or subjective identity of African descent people. What does it mean to feel strongly part of multiple cultural contexts, of multiple worlds and / or of no one in particular? What cultural world is attributed to me by others? Which ones do you feel yours? The competition is open to authors and authors residing in Europe, who have links with the African continent.
We also choose short films that deal with the issue of forced migration from Africa to Europe, with particular attention to self-narration and the collection of voices of people who have experienced migration in the first person.
