The Kinemastik International Short Film Festival was started 22 years ago in Malta by a collective, now an NGO. We are primarily focused on short film from emerging and independent, local and international directors. The festival is held over three nights in an outdoor venue, currently the 'Msida Bastion Cemetery and Historic Garden' which overlooks the Marsamxett Harbour located within the fortification walls of Floriana, just outside the capital city Valletta.

Kinemastik offers a distinctive platform for independent and unconventional cinema and embraces work that might not find space elsewhere. Only regret was not being able to attend in person!
