Film festival with annual live screening.

We love romance and want to celebrate it with a festival of short films all about romance. All genres are welcome - drama, comedy, horror - even action romance if you have one! Music videos are welcome.

Non-English films are welcome but must have English subtitles.

There will be official selections screened at a live event with the audience favourite voted the winner at the live screening on February 13, 2026.

Not all finalists will not automatically be included in the live screening - we will let you know of the program on or before the final notification date.

LGBQTI+ themes welcome.

Awards & Prizes

There are no prizes - the film voted the audience favourite will receive a certificate (which will be emailed to you after the event).

All official selections, finalists and winners will receive laurels.

Rules & Terms

No premiere status required.

All genre of films, including music videos, with a theme of romance are welcome.
Films can be up to 10 minutes long (no minimum length). Films over 11 minutes (including credits) will be disqualified and fees will not be refunded.

Films must not contain full frontal nudity or graphic depictions of sex or violence.

If selected, films must be available for digital download (preferably FilmFreeway screener).

Entry does not guarantee selection.

By submitting your film, you agree that you have have full right and authority to declare:

- that you have all the necessary rights to film and all its components
- you grant the film festival a non-exclusive right to screen the film and to use and distribute promotional material relating to the film

    We were thrilled to share our video for the lovelorn song "26 eXes" with the Romance Rules Film Festival, and glad it was well received by the audience. An ocean kept us away from attending, but the communications were great and the laurels, of course, were lovely.
