Un festival internazionale dedicato alla promozione e alla valorizzazione di cortometraggi che affrontano il tema dell'ambiente in tutte le sue accezioni, di opere prime italiane e di produzioni indipendenti provenienti da tutto il mondo. FFCF è un punto d'incontro per cineasti emergenti e affermati, focalizzato sulla condivisione del know-how professionale e su argomenti di grande importanza sociale e culturale.
Oggi più che mai è necessaria una forma di RESILIENZA, individuale e collettiva, una forma di sopravvivenza agli eventi in corso. Una riorganizzazione di intenti, per un nuovo equilibrio tra uomo e natura fondato sul rispetto. Noi crediamo che l’arte tutta – e in questo caso l’arte cinematografica – possa fornire gli strumenti per questo tipo di resilienza attiva. Uno sguardo creativo sul mondo esteriore e su quello interiore, dove i punti di vista oggettivo e soggettivo si confondono, provocando domande e suggerendo risposte.
La tematica di Ferrara Film Corto Festival vuole relazionarsi con le grandi sfide globali e contemporanee, tra cui il cambiamento climatico – che riguarda tutti noi, nessuno escluso – ma anche il cambiamento radicale dello stile di vita, del modello collettivo, del paradigma dominante. Un nuovo mondo, ma anche una nuova musica, come espressione dell’empatia e delle emozioni più umane. Perché crediamo fermamente che l’ambiente sia musica, a cavallo tra armonia e disarmonia. Una sinfonia in divenire, un paesaggio sonoro a cui tutti partecipiamo, come voci soliste, come orchestrali, talvolta come auditori.
Il filo rosso dell’evento è rappresentato dal tema AMBIENTE È MUSICA, ovvero l’esplorazione della relazione tra ambiente sonoro e ambiente naturale, nel tentativo di mettere in risalto la cultura del patrimonio naturale, del patrimonio sonoro di ogni popolazione e del patrimonio scientifico che caratterizza l’innovazione contemporanea. Innovazione è anche la parola chiave che racconta la proiezione dei film in concorso, provenienti da tutto il mondo e accomunati dalla sensibilità per le tematiche sociali trattate.
Ferrara Film Corto è un festival di carattere nazionale e internazionale, la cui attenzione è dedicata in prevalenza agli autori di cinema, alle professionalità sommerse, alle maestranze artistiche, ai filmmaker “indie” e agli appassionati che arricchiscono la cultura del cinema. Ferrara Film Corto Festival, in quanto realtà culturale e di promozione sociale, riconosce l’importanza e la centralità dell’incontro con gli autori, di qualsiasi età e provenienza, per dare voce e rilievo alla creatività di un settore in costante evoluzione.
A tale scopo, la IX Edizione del Festival prevede tre categorie di partecipazione:
• “AMBIENTE È MUSICA”: categoria aperta ad autori nazionali e internazionali di qualsiasi età, che dovranno interpretare il tema “AMBIENTE È MUSICA” in maniera del tutto personale, mediante il linguaggio cinematografico. La categoria è aperta a ogni genere di cortometraggio.
• “BUONA LA PRIMA”: categoria aperta ad autori italiani, o residenti in Italia, di qualsiasi età e dedicata unicamente a opere prime, a tema libero. La categoria è aperta a ogni genere di cortometraggio.
• "INDIEVERSO": categoria aperta ad ogni genere di cortometraggio, a tema libero, purché di produzione indipendente. La categoria è aperta ad autori nazionali e internazionali di qualsiasi età.
FERRARA FILM CORTO APS
Ferrara, città che ha ispirato generazioni di cineasti e artisti, custodisce un patrimonio culturale fatto di immagini, visioni e narrazioni che attraversano il tempo. Da Michelangelo Antonioni a Pupi Avati, passando per Florestano Vancini, Carlo Rambaldi e Giuliano Montaldo, questa città ha contribuito in modo significativo alla storia del cinema e dell’audiovisivo italiano.
Da questa eredità nasce Ferrara Film Corto APS, associazione culturale attiva dal 2015 e oggi rinnovata per rafforzare una visione chiara e contemporanea: promuovere il cinema breve come linguaggio artistico, educativo e sociale, capace di raccontare il presente e immaginare il futuro.
L’associazione si dedica alla diffusione della cultura cinematografica attraverso attività formative, eventi, incontri e progetti rivolti in particolare alle nuove generazioni, favorendo il dialogo tra scuole, università, professionisti del settore e pubblico. Il cortometraggio diventa così uno strumento privilegiato per stimolare creatività, pensiero critico e consapevolezza, anche in relazione ai grandi temi del nostro tempo, come l’ambiente, la sostenibilità e le trasformazioni sociali.
Cuore delle attività è il Ferrara Film Corto Festival 'Ambiente è Musica', appuntamento annuale di respiro internazionale che unisce cinema, musica e tematiche ambientali. Il festival rappresenta una piattaforma di incontro e scambio tra autori emergenti, artisti, studenti e professionisti, offrendo proiezioni, masterclass, concerti, talk e momenti di networking culturale.
Attraverso una rete sempre più ampia di collaborazioni nazionali e internazionali, Ferrara Film Corto APS si propone come un punto di riferimento per la valorizzazione del cinema breve e per la costruzione di una comunità culturale viva, aperta e inclusiva, capace di connettere linguaggi, discipline e visioni diverse.
In questo percorso, il cinema non è solo espressione artistica, ma uno strumento di relazione, conoscenza e trasformazione.

An international festival dedicated to the promotion and enhancement of short films dealing with the environment in all its meanings, Italian premieres and independent productions from all over the world. FFCF is a meeting point for emerging and established filmmakers, focused on sharing professional know-how and topics of great social and cultural importance.
Today, more than ever, a form of RESILIENCE, individual and collective, a form of survival to current events, is needed. A reorganisation of intent, for a new balance between man and nature based on respect. We believe that all art - and in this case film art - can provide the tools for this kind of active resilience. A creative look at the outer world and the inner world, where objective and subjective points of view merge, provoking questions and suggesting answers.
The theme of the Ferrara Film Corto Festival wants to relate to the great global and contemporary challenges, including climate change - which concerns us all, no one excluded - but also the radical change of lifestyle, of the collective model, of the dominant paradigm. A new world, but also a new music, as an expression of empathy and the most human emotions. Because we firmly believe that the environment is music, straddling harmony and disharmony. A symphony in the making, a soundscape in which we all participate, as solo voices, as orchestral players, sometimes as auditors.
The red thread of the event is represented by the theme ENVIRONMENT IS MUSIC, i.e. the exploration of the relationship between the sound environment and the natural environment, in an attempt to highlight the culture of the natural heritage, the sound heritage of each population and the scientific heritage that characterises contemporary innovation. Innovation is also the key word behind the screening of the films in competition, which come from all over the world and are united by their sensitivity to the social issues addressed.
Ferrara Film Corto aims to be a Festival of national and international character, whose attention is mainly devoted to film authors, underground professionals, artistic workers, "indie" filmmakers and enthusiasts who enrich the culture of cinema. Ferrara Film Corto Festival, as a cultural and social promotion reality, recognises the importance and centrality of meeting authors, of any age and origin, in order to give voice and prominence to the creativity of a constantly evolving sector.
To this end, the 9th Edition of the Festival envisages three categories of participation:
• "ENVIRONMENT IS MUSIC": a category open to national and international authors of any age, who will have to interpret the theme "ENVIRONMENT IS MUSIC" in a totally personal way, through the language of film. The category is open to any genre of short film.
• "BUONA LA PRIMA": a category open to Italian authors, or those resident in Italy, of any age, and dedicated solely to first works, with a free theme. The category is open to any genre of short film.
• "INDIEVERSO": a category open to any kind of short film, with a free theme, provided that it is an independent production. The category is open to national and international authors of any age.

Ferrara, a city that has inspired generations of filmmakers and artists, treasures a cultural heritage made of images, visions, and narratives that span through time. From Michelangelo Antonioni to Pupi Avati, by way of Florestano Vancini, Carlo Rambaldi, and Giuliano Montaldo, this city has contributed significantly to the history of Italian cinema and audiovisual arts.
From this legacy, Ferrara Film Corto APS was born, a cultural association active since 2015 and today renewed to strengthen a clear and contemporary vision: to promote short film as an artistic, educational, and social language, capable of narrating the present and imagining the future.
The association is dedicated to the dissemination of cinematographic culture through educational activities, events, meetings, and projects aimed particularly at the newer generations, fostering dialogue among schools, universities, industry professionals, and the public. The short film thus becomes a privileged tool to stimulate creativity, critical thinking, and awareness, also in relation to the great themes of our time, such as the environment, sustainability, and social transformations.
The heart of the activities is the Ferrara Film Corto Festival 'Ambiente è Musica' (Environment is Music), an annual event of international scope that combines cinema, music, and environmental themes. The festival represents a platform for encounter and exchange among emerging authors, artists, students, and professionals, offering screenings, masterclasses, concerts, talks, and moments of cultural networking.
Through an ever-growing network of national and international collaborations, Ferrara Film Corto APS aims to be a point of reference for the enhancement of short cinema and for the construction of a lively, open, and inclusive cultural community, capable of connecting different languages, disciplines, and visions.
In this journey, cinema is not only an artistic expression, but a tool for relationship, knowledge, and transformation.
