ARABIAN SIGHTS FILM FESTIVAL

Since 2020, the Arabian Sights Film Festival is presented in conjunction with the annual Washington, DC International Film Festival (Filmfest DC), the umbrella organization of Arabian Sights.

The Arabian Sights Film Festival highlights the best in contemporary Arab cinema each year in Washington, DC bringing narrative features, documentaries and shorts to thousands of people. We seek films made by Arab, Arab American, and international directors highlighting Arab themes. All films must be Washington, DC metropolitan area premieres.

Inaugurated in January 1996, Arabian Sights is one of the longest running festivals of its kind in the U.S. and has grown to become a widely anticipated, attended and respected event in Washington, DC and is favorably highlighted in the media. The Arabian Sights Film Festival is presented by the Washington, DC International Film Festival.

Audience Award
An Audience Award for favorite film will be determined by audience ballots presented at all festival screenings.

-All films must be from and/or about the Arab world.

-Arabian Sights prefers to have the Washington, DC area premiere of films selected for the festival and gives priority to such films.

-Submissions must have been completed after January 1, 2018.

-All films must be presented in English or with English subtitles.

-Feature films must not be available publicly on any streaming platform or on DVD or digital download/link for purchase.

-Works in progress that are not final cuts may be submitted but clearly note what is missing or will change.

-More than one entry may be submitted; however an official entry and entry fee must accompany each submission.

-Feature films also must not have been broadcast on television in the United States or screened theatrically in the United States prior to October 27, 2019.
