PARTICIPANTS
Participants over 18 years of age, from any country, can participate on their own or as part of a group —except in the “Short Films Made by Children” category, which is open only to participants under 18.
All productions whose original language is not Spanish must include subtitles in .SRT or .PDF format in Spanish and/or English."
Up to three works per filmmaker will be accepted.
Throughout the entire call for entries, registration is free for Peruvian Short Films, Latin American Short Films, and Feature Films from any country.
Animated productions submitted that have been part of the Official Selection —either in Competition or Exhibition— in previous editions of the AJAYU Festival will be automatically disqualified.
Animated projects completed on or after May 30, 2022, are eligible to participate.
DEADLINES
The call will be open from July 20 to October 16, 2025, closing at 11:59 p.m. (Peruvian time). Animated works received after the deadline will not be considered, unless an official extension is granted by the organizers.

Requirements:
Productions are eligible to compete in only one category in length.
Short films must not exceed 20 (twenty) minutes in length.
Feature films must be longer than 60 (sixty) minutes.
For series, only one episode will be eligible for selection, and it must not exceed 30 (thirty) minutes in length.
Only works from outside Latin America (including Peru) will be accepted in the International Animated Short Films category.
The organization will decide whether to screen works outside the competition.
The best productions will be eligible to compete for the Ajayu Grand Prize, the festival’s highest distinction.

COMPETITION CONDITIONS
Animated productions provided to the Festival may be used for promotional purposes. This may include short clips from the work (not the full film), as well as teasers or trailers.
Applicants — including directors, producers, and/or distributors — must hold the rights to the submitted work and agree not to include any audiovisual materials or photographs they do not have permission to use.
The Festival organizers are not responsible for the submitted works or for any improper use of intellectual property rights by the authors.

This preselection process will be carried out as follows:
After the submission deadline, the received materials will be reviewed and preselected by the Programming Team, appointed by the Festival’s Organizing Committee.

Productions selected by the Festival Organization
A list of pre-selected films will be shared before the final results are announced. Selected participants will be notified by email on October 28, 2025. Along with the notification, you’ll receive an authorization form that must be filled out and signed by the official representative of the film.
This document confirms your participation and grants permission for the film to be screened during the in-person events of the festival, as well as in any traveling showcases organized by AJAYU and its partners, including thematic retrospectives.
Participation in virtual screenings via CINE AJAYU is optional. If you agree, we can apply geolocation restrictions according to your preference.
Please note: submitting the signed authorization form is required in order to be part of the 2025 Official Selection.
SELECTED WORKS
Animated productions selected as part of the Festival's Official Selection must submit:
One or two stills from the short film with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
A photograph of the director(s) (optional).
A poster or still image from the short film (optional).
A trailer or teaser (optional).
The film’s representative authorizes its inclusion in the AJAYU video library, as well as its participation in future in-person traveling showcases and retrospective programs organized by the festival and/or its partners. They may also grant permission for the work to be featured in exclusive online screenings by CINE AJAYU through the website www.ajayufest.com, with access limited to registered viewers via password protection, and available only during the official dates of the Festival. Participation in CINE AJAYU is optional, and geolocation restrictions may be applied based on the representative's preferences.

JUDGING
Competition categories (see Section VI) will be evaluated by a panel of renowned film and animation professionals.
Special Mentions may be awarded at the discretion of the jury and the festival team.
JURY
The jury will be appointed by the festival organizers and will consist of leading professionals from the fields of film and animation. They will decide the winners in the competitive categories.
All jury decisions are final. Awards may be withheld if submissions do not meet the quality standards set by the jury or if a consensus cannot be reached.
FINAL RESULTS ANNOUNCEMENT
The Official Selection in Competition and Exhibition will be announced on November 4, 2025, on our website www.ajayufest.com and Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ajayufest. Official laurels will be sent via email.
AWARDS CEREMONY
The awards ceremony will take place during the Festival’s closing day, on November 29, 2025. Winners may include the prize and official Festival laurel in the opening credits of their work.
ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Participation in this Festival implies full acceptance of these terms and conditions. Missing key information in the application, the absence of required supporting materials, or failure to meet the established deadlines may result in the disqualification of the submitted work.

PARTICIPANTES
Podrán participar personas mayores de 18 años de cualquier nacionalidad, ya sea de forma individual o colectiva, excepto para el caso de la categoría “Cortometrajes Realizado por Niños” donde se considerarán menores de 18 años.
Las producciones en idiomas que no sean en español, deberán adjuntar subtítulos en formato .SRT o .pdf en español y/o inglés.
Se aceptarán hasta tres obras por realizador.
La inscripción para las categorías: Cortometrajes Peruanos, Latinoamericanos y Largometrajes de cualquier país son gratuitas durante toda la convocatoria.
Las producciones animadas inscritas que hayan sido parte de la selección Oficial en competencia o Exhibición de ediciones anteriores del Festival AJAYU serán automáticamente descalificadas.
Participan proyectos animados que hayan sido finalizados a partir del 30 de mayo del año 2022.
PLAZOS DE RECEPCIÓN
El plazo de recepción será del 20 de julio hasta el 16 de octubre del 2025 hasta las 11:59 pm. (Hora Perú). Los proyectos remitidos después de la fecha no serán considerados a menos que la organización haya decidido extender la convocatoria.
Se tomará en cuenta los siguientes plazos:
Inscripción Temprana hasta el 18 de agosto del 2025.
Inscripción Regular del 19 de agosto hasta el 25 de septiembre del 2025.
Inscripción Tardía 26 de septiembre hasta el 16 de octubre del 2025.

Producciones seleccionadas por el festival
Consideraciones:
Las producciones podrán competir en solo en una categoría.
Los cortometrajes no deben superar los 20 (veinte) minutos.
En el caso de los largometrajes deben ser superiores a 60 (sesenta) minutos.
En el caso de series solo podrá ser seleccionado un capítulo que no debe superar los 30 (treinta) minutos.
Para el caso de la categoría Cortometrajes de animación Internacional, solo se aceptan obras que no pertenezcan a Latinoamérica y Perú.
La decisión de proyectar trabajos fuera de competencia dependerá de la organización.
Las mejores producciones podrán competir en el Gran premio Ajayu, siendo este el reconocimiento más importante del festival.

V. CONDICIONES DE LA COMPETENCIA
Las producciones animadas recibidas podrán ser usadas para la promoción del Festival (utilizando parte del video, no su totalidad, también puede utilizar el teaser o el trailer).
Los responsables de la postulación como directores, productores y/o distribuidores deben contar con los derechos de la obra en postulación y se comprometen a no presentar materiales audiovisuales y/o fotografías sobre los que no tengan derechos de uso.
La organización del Festival no se responsabiliza de las obras ni del uso inadecuado de los derechos de propiedad intelectual por parte de los autores.
VI. PRESELECCIÓN
Esta preselección se realizará de la siguiente manera:
Después del cierre de postulaciones, el material recibido será preseleccionado por el Equipo de Programación, designado por el comité organizador del Festival.

Producciones seleccionadas por la Organización del Festival
Seguidamente se tendrá una lista de preseleccionados antes de la publicación de resultados, a quienes se les notificará por correo el día 28 de octubre del 2025. Es importante recalcar que se deberá enviar el formato de autorización (documento que será remitido junto con la notificación), debidamente llenado y firmado por quien represente oficialmente la obra. Este documento confirmará su participación y autorizará la proyección de la obra en las plataformas presenciales del festival, así como en muestras itinerantes organizadas por AJAYU y/o sus aliados, incluyendo retrospectivas temáticas. La inclusión en proyecciones virtuales mediante CINE AJAYU será opcional, y en caso de aceptación, se podrá aplicar geolocalización según preferencia de la persona responsable de la obra.
El envío de este formato de autorización será un requisito indispensable para ser parte de la Selección Oficial 2025.
VII. DE LOS SELECCIONADOS
La producción animada que haya sido elegida como parte de la Selección Oficial del Festival, deberá presentar:
Una o dos gráficas del corto con una calidad mínima de 300 dpi.
Una fotografía del director/es. (no obligatorio)
Una imagen del afiche del cortometraje o still (no obligatorio).
Tráiler o teaser (no obligatorio).
La persona representante de la obra autoriza su inclusión en la videoteca de AJAYU, así como su participación en muestras itinerantes y retrospectivas futuras de manera presencial, organizadas por el festival y/o sus aliados. Además, podrá autorizar la exhibición gratuita mediante proyecciones virtuales exclusivas de CINE AJAYU, realizadas a través de la página web www.ajayufest.com, con acceso restringido mediante inscripción y contraseña, válidas únicamente durante los días del Festival. La participación en CINE AJAYU es opcional, y en caso de aceptación, se podrá aplicar geolocalización según preferencia de la persona representante de la obra.
VIII. PREMIOS
Los premios estarán divididos de la siguiente manera:

Mejor cortometraje animado Internacional (Trofeo y certificado digital)
Mejor cortometraje animado de Perú (Premio Económico con una suma de tres mil soles - S/. 3000,000 -, Trofeo y certificado digital, el pago será realizado por Paypal)
Mejor cortometraje animado de Latinoamérica (Trofeo certificado)
Mejor cortometraje animado de Tesis o de Graduación (certificado digital)
Mejor Largometraje animado (Trofeo y certificado digital)
Mejor serie animada (Trofeo y certificado digital)
Menciones Especiales del Jurado (certificado digital)
IX. CALIFICACIÓN
Las categorías en Competencia (Ver apartado VI), serán calificadas por jurados especialistas destacados del cine y animación.
Las Menciones Especiales están a consideración del jurado calificador y la organización de manera opcional.
X. JURADO
El Jurado será establecido por la organización, entre personalidades destacadas del cine y animación, quienes decidirán los premios en las categorías competitivas.
El fallo del Jurado será inapelable y los premios pueden declararse desiertos en caso que no cumplan la calidad establecida por el jurado o no se lleguen a un consenso.
XI. PUBLICACIÓN DE RESULTADOS FINALES
La Selección Oficial en Competencia y en Exhibición se publicará el 04 de noviembre del 2025 en la página web www.ajayufest.com y página de Facebook https://www.facebook.com/ajayufest y se enviarán los laureles correspondientes por correo electrónico.
XII. PREMIACIÓN
La premiación se realizará durante la jornada de clausura del Festival, el 29 de noviembre del 2025. Los ganadores se pueden incorporar en sus créditos de inicio el premio obtenido acompañado del laurel del Festival.
XIII. ACEPTACIÓN DE LAS BASES
La participación en este Festival implica la aceptación de las presentes bases. La ausencia de cualquier dato importante en la inscripción, así como del material adjunto a la misma y el incumplimiento de los plazos establecidos, podrá suponer la no participación en el Festival de la obra correspondiente.
