SILENCE
(The act of looking and the subjective)

Silence is light stretching the shadows at the beginning of each day. The sun all gathers in one spot. It doesn’t last long but in that moment, life sits still.

This is not a festival, but a call to find "long distance" actors/performers/movers interested in pushing themselves.

About the project:
The film will be structured in 3 parts:
- 1. Light, darkness and THE INTERNAL
- 2. Distance and THE OBSERVER
- 3. Contrast and THE INTERJECTOR

I am in need of “long distance actors” to make it happen! I will provide you with a prompt and brief instructions regarding camera position/mise-en-scene and you, the Actor, will film your response to my instructions. There will be 3 Actors. The second one will receive the first actor’s video response and his/her own set of instruction and will be responsible for building on what the first actor has done. This will go on – each actor picks up where the last person has stopped. You will develop characters and improvise situations and feed off each other’s work. As the Director, I will nudge you in the right direction.

How to apply:

If you are interested, please apply by September 25th, 2016! Send me any/all of these: a portfolio of your work, pictures of yourself, an introduction and/or your questions at the email address: contact@irinafilm.com or SUBMIT RIGHT HERE ON FilmFreeway

Special consideration will be given to the Actors who also send a brief video of themselves – it can be anything, you can talk or, keeping in mind the subject of the film, you can keep silent.

THANK YOU!

Only 3 actors will be selected. The work is unpaid, but I hope we’ll end up with a great short film that will be as much yours as it will be mine.

Requirements:

- I am looking for 3 actors of any nationality/gender/age, based anywhere in the world (you should know enough English to understand my instructions, but it is not required you speak it). You can call yourself an actor, a performer, a mover
- Access to a video and sound recording device and knowledge on how to use it. Preferably you will film yourself on your mobile phone (a good enough camera is required, so it should be a smart phone)
- Ability to provide a “response” within a maximum of 3 days after receiving the material (of
course, this is not set in stone and we can discuss and make other arrangements if required)
- Enthusiasm for improvisation, but also ability to follow instruction
- Access to a computer and the internet (we will transfer video files back and forth)
- Commitment to participate from beginning to end (the project will most likely take 2 months of shooting, but roughly, you will only be working 6 days, not including your own preparations)
