1.Conditions of participation
Applicants (aged > 18 years old by February 8th 2020) of any nationality are admitted .
The Contest is open to both professional and “amateur” directors, who may use any technological means during the filmmaking process. In particular, individuals currently affected by eating disorders or obesity, as well as ex-obese patients, together with whoever interacts with them during their daily life (with the exception of the health personnel in charge) are strongly encouraged to participate.
The essential participating condition is the films’ content relevance to the mission of the Festival. Filmdipeso topics: food, nutrition, obesity and eating disorders. However, applicants enjoy complete freedom of expression and the Festival is open to any kind of production.
Only films that meet the following conditions may be chosen for invitation in the official selection:
a) All films must have been completed after January 1st, 2016;
b) All films must not exceed 20 minutes in length, head and tail credits included;
c) Non-italian-language films must be subtitled in Italian;
d) All films must be submitted in digital format (see art. 4);
e) Films previously presented to other competitions are also eligible.

2. Rules & Regulations
Submission and participation fee : Free of charge.
All applicants must fill out the Submission Form (see the attached document).
Submission forms must be sent to direzioneartistica@filmdipeso.it, and must include the following material :
a) A filled and signed copy of the Registration Form available online (www.filmdipeso.it);
b) A copy of a valid identity document (such as passport or ID card);
c) link to a streaming copy of the movie available on YouTube or Vimeo ;
d) a short synopsis;
e) director’s notes;
f) director’s curriculum vitae, if he/she is a professional.
Directors can also submit their works on FilmFreeway (Filmdipeso Film Festival).
Synopsis and director’s CV may be used to promote the event. Participants authorize Filmdipeso Short Film Festival to screen the selected films, free of charge.

3.Submission and deadline
The deadline for submissions is February 20, 2020. Applicants must send the Submission Form (art. 2) to direzioneartistica@filmdipeso.it; applications submitted in paper form will not be accepted.

4.Selection
The Festival Selection Committee will choose the titles that will take part at the final competion.
Only the selected short films will receive a notification via e-mail. They must provide a copy of their works within March 10, 2020 to direzioneartistica@filmdipeso.it Via Ferruccio, 28/b cap.00185 Roma.
All films must be burnt on DVD and must be submitted in digital format (FULL HD video, MP4, H264 or MOV files) with dimensions of 1920X1980, 1440X1080, or 1280X720.
Official Selection will be screened during the Festival on April 17, 2020 from 3, PM to 8 PM.(fist session) and April 18, 2020 (from 3 PM to 9 PM)(second session and award cerimony)
The official selection of the films participating to the Competition will be published on the website www.filmdipeso.it on February 27, 2020.

Jury
The jury will be chair by :
• Gianfranco Pannone, President of the Jury – Director
• The list of the five member of the jury will be published on March 15, 2020.

The Festival organizers last minute may replace or increase the members of the jury.
The jury will award the following prize:
• City of Latina Award - € 1000,00 ;
• Special mention of the Jury;
• Audience Award. (Further details will be communicated on the website).
The decision of the jury is unquestionable.

5.Awards Ceremony
The awards ceremony will be held on April 18,2019 at the end of the Festival.

6.Custody and Use of Materials
The organizers of the Festival will not accept any responsability for the loss, damage, or theft of the material provided. Films will not be returned to participants in any case.
The Festival reserves the right to refuse the participation of any film that fails to meet the technical requirements for a public screening of good quality.

7.Grant of Rights
By submitting a film, the Participant declares that he/she owns all rights (including all third-party rights) with regard to the submitted film. In the event that one or more persons are clearly recognisable, or the sound or music of third parties can be heard in the film, those involved must agree that the film be made public. The respective declaration of consent must be made available (see the Registration Form). Should third parties nevertheless assert claims resulting from the infringement of their rights, the Participant declares the Organiser free from all said claims. The person who submits the film is solely responsible for its content.
The submission and participation in the Festival imply acceptance of the Contest Rules.

8.Cancellation
The Festival Directors reserve the right to cancel the event in the case where the minimum number of films required for the final selection is not reached.
