Thank you, CBFF! What an awesome film festival. Everyone was so kind and accommodating, and there were so many great films, Q&As and networking opportunities. Plus, it was set in the beautiful mountains with aspens at peak yellow and hiking trails nearby. What wonderful hosts!

Crested Butte FF was an amazing experience. It was really special to connect with the local CB community. The programmers are invested in all the filmmakers who attend and cultivating a spirit of connection and community during the fest. The hospitality was out of this world, never had this inviting of an experience as a shorts filmmaker. The screenings had some of the best films of the year, with Q+As which reactivated me as a filmmaker. I recommend to any filmmaker who needs a getaway with great mountain views alongside great films and company.

-- Saleem Gondal, Filmmaker

"Hands down one of my favorite film festivals in the world. The thoughtful selection of films paired with an intimate festival size makes for an amazing opportunity to get inspired and connect with other filmmakers in one of the most beautiful towns around."

-- Frank Pickell, Filmmaker

"What. A. Festival. I’ve never had, and could not imagine a better film fest experience. From the organizers to the volunteers to the people that come to see the films, there simply isn’t a more authentic, excited and loving group of people anywhere else. Everything about this fest is conducive to having a great time and meeting great filmmakers. Not to mention, Crested Butte is one of the most stunning places to see in the country. You can’t really explain it, you just have to go”

--Hugo Cordova, Filmmaker

Unfortunately I was not able to attend Crested Butte, due to the fact my child was born right before the festival, but they made me feel at home regardless! I really hope I have a chance to attend in the future, as I know the festival is highly regarded and in a beautiful location. Everyone was so great keeping me in the loop with all that was going on with the festival. Really hoping I can have another shot at making it out there!

    Hello Nick,
We all hope you and your family are doing well and it was wonderful to see, select and present your film, BOUNCY BROTHERS a film I hope many see about those that don't quite get to have the American Dream happen for themselves. We look forward to your next film and will have a fee waiver for you. Our very best, the CBFF team.

Wonderful festival. If you have the opportunity to go, GO!! Not only is the location serene, but the selection of films are intriguing and thoughtful. Really excellent, high quality programming. Response from festival:

    Hello Lilly,
We loved having you, and YOU & ME & CHAD & RODNEY at Crested Butte. You added so much to the festival. We know great things are in store for you and we look forward to seeing them all.

  • Noah Amir Arjomand

This was probably the most hospitable festival I've attended in the US. The festival organizers and volunteers were all extremely friendly and caring about filmmakers' experiences.
Parties and networking were excellent. The programming team has great taste and programs blocks of short films that really make sense together, which meant rich conversations with other filmmakers in attendance.
They hold the festival at a really gorgeous time of year when the aspen leaves are changing, so it is well worth the trip.

    Response from festival:

    Amir,
You, Brett, and your film were highlights of the festival. Thank you for joining us here in the mountains and we hope to see you again and again. Congrats on such a great, subtle film that speaks to so much happening in the world today, and we await what comes next. Thanks so much for visiting and adding so much to our town.

Crested Butte Film Festival is a 1-of-1 experience. There’s something truly magical about being in the heart of the mountains, surrounded by a community that values art, conversation and connection in equal measure. From the incredible hospitality of Michael Brody and Jordan Erdie to the warmth of every volunteer and local, this festival radiates heart and intention.

The screening of Flight 182 was beautifully attended, and the Q&A—led by the thoughtful and talented moderator John Mark—was one of the most meaningful conversations we’ve had on this journey. Crested Butte reminded me why I make films: to bring people together, to listen and to share stories that move us forward. I left feeling deeply inspired and cannot wait to return. Thank you so much to the entire team for empowering such a special place. I will take these memories with me in life. xx

    Response from festival:

    Rippin,
I love your thought: "a festival that radiates heart and intention" and may I add, "a profound love of cinema." Thanks for your great film (Part I : ) and for bringing such a great team of enthusiastic friends and colleagues to CB. We hope we matched everything Jamie and Michael said and you were a huge addition to the festival - thank you for trekking and looking forward to what's next.
