Creep Fest '26 is alive – Send Us Your Worst!

Back by unpopular demand, Creep Fest is returning to Nelson, New Zealand for its second indecent instalment! After a sell-out inaugural event at State Cinemas in December 2024, which was a raucous and roaring success, the local creeps are hungry for more – and all we need now are your films.

We’re a celebration of creepy and trashy genre cinema – horror, sci-fi, splatter, grindhouse, video nasties, midnight movie madness, and everything in between. If your film is weird, wild, unhinged, or just plain bad (in the best way), we want it. Creep Fest is not about polish – it’s about passion, chaos, and the kind of films that make audiences yell at the screen.

We’re not looking for perfection and we certainly don’t recommend you send us anything you’re too precious about - the Creep Fest audience are as brutal as they come and that’s just how we like it. We’re looking for guts. So dig through your hard drive, dust off that cursed short, and send us your worst.

The "Total Trash" Award is the one and only prize to be earned at Creep Fest. Chosen by the audience during the screening through rowdy heckling and chants of “total trash,” this anti-prestige honour celebrates the most gloriously garbage film of the night. Forget Q&As – expect screams, laughter, and total mayhem.
