The 8th Annual Atlanta Shortsfest is held July 7 - 8, 2017 at the Synchronicity Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia.

Atlanta Shortsfest showcases a diverse mix of short films by ultra-talented filmmakers from across the globe.

Traditionally, short films often do not garner the attention they deserve on the festival circuit. Atlanta Shortsfest was established to spotlight and promote excellent short films, and provide an important platform to share and discuss your work with appreciative audiences and fellow filmmakers.

The Atlanta Shortsfest showcases a variety of short films with a running time under 45 minutes. Judges program comedy, animation, documentary, experimental, horror & sci-fi, personal, erotic, fantasy, drama, thrillers, action & adventure, cult and just about any other genre you can imagine.

Atlanta Shortsfest is held during the Atlanta Film Series. The Atlanta Film Series is a four-month showcase of independent film hosted at The Synchronicity Theatre and the Plaza Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. Atlanta Film Series is packed with events designed to spotlight every genre of cinema imaginable.

The scorching summer months of July and August bring the Atlanta's Summer Film Series, with award-winning short films showcased at Atlanta Shortsfest, and the top independent features and shorts at Atlanta Underground Film Festival.

Atlanta's Fall Film Series, held September and October, showcase unforgettable documentary films during the Atlanta Docufest, and a terrifying celebration of the top horror films from across the globe at Atlanta Horror Film Festival.

The Atlanta Shortsfest is a very well run and well organized festival. Communication is prompt and courteous and the people are very friendly. The venue is excellent - very comfortable and the screening quality is very good. There was an excellent turnout at our screening and it was a great crowd. Plus, their post-screening gatherings are quite fun. This was one of the best festival experiences I've had in a while, I highly recommend it!
