Short Films Long Night is an event dedicated to Swiss Shorts mainly made in Los Angeles and Switzerland and aims to present the best Short Films featuring fictions, dramas, comedies, animation and documentaries.

Facilitated by the Consulate General of Switzerland in Los Angeles, Short Films Long Night created an opportunity to give exposure to Swiss filmmakers with their domicile anywhere in the world, to gain further visibility and make new contacts.

Once a year - usually in September - Short Films Long Night takes the opportunity to screen the best of the best Swiss Short Films from around the world at the Harmony Gold Theater on Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA) with the presence of many filmmakers, directors, producers, artists and actors from the LA community and from Switzerland.

We give out 3 awards. One Award for "Best Short Film 100% Swiss" will be given for the best short film submitted directly from Switzerland, one Award will be given for "Best Short Film Here & There" which will go to a filmmakers living outside of Switzerland and the third Award is the "Audience Award", which will be selected by the audience on the night of the screening.

ELIGIBILITY/REGULATIONS:

The focus of the Festival are short films entered into competition written, directed, produced, or principally acted by an artist of Swiss descent in the USA or in any country, or by a person born in Switzerland, whose subject matter relates to Swiss or Swiss-American culture.

Entries must not have been completed prior to January 1st, 2013

The SFLN Film Festival reserves the right to determine eligibility of any projects submitted.

The SFLN Film Festival accepts work completed in the mentioned formats listed above. If accepted, the producer agrees to provide the festival with the presentation format the festival indicates.

Final program determinations will be made available to entrants in writing or via email. Except in emergencies, please do not call the offices.

All submission materials become the property of the SFLN Festival and will not be returned. The SFLN Film Festival reserves the right to use any still image(s) from accepted films in order to create promotional materials for the festival - including but not limited to e-mail blasts, flyers, programs, posters etc.

Selected filmmakers will be notified no later than August 11th, 2014.
