Whether film scholar or film lover, most will agree that film is an art form that is both a reflection of our everyday life and a means to escape it. Film can take us away while at the same time embed us in the truth of other people’s stories, some beautiful, some devastating, and some unimaginable. Our attendees eagerly anticipate each season's program of varying tales, contexts, and characters both rare and relatable.

We believe that we host a dynamic and welcoming event, but don't just trust our word -- here's what our attendees, filmmakers, volunteers, and sponsors have to say about us: https://vimeo.com/509992957/5e0e0e99ba

In closing, it is common for films exhibited by our Festival to be nominated for OSCARS® and other major awards.

The entry fee is non-refundable.

PREMIERE STATUS:
We do not accept films that are already available via VOD, Cable, and TV, or which are already for rent/sale on DVD prior to, or during the Festival dates. Submitted films must not open in any other Scottsdale/Phoenix area Festivals or theatrically prior to the Festival and Series screenings.

ONLINE SCREENER POLICY:
We also accept Vimeo and YouTube links in addition to FilmFreeway Screeners. Pursuant to viewing online screeners: Statistics from online providers (Vimeo, YouTube) are often inaccurate and should not be relied on as proof of our review. Some services use averages or trends as facts. It is our intention to watch all screeners in their entirety -- for the integrity of our event and out of respect for the filmmaker. However, if after watching 60% if the film, it is apparent that the piece would not be programmed into our final selections, we reserve the right to cease watching.

We do not have a membership to FestivalScope or Cinando. If your film is meant to be previewed by our programmers via FestivalScope or Cinando you must provide us with both login and password access.

The 2021 Scottsdale International Film Festival has proven that there is something magical happening with independent film in the state of AZ. To receive such an incredible response to so early on in the year by SIFF, we knew we HAD to attend in person so that we could experience this magic first hand and we were not let down. Best Supporting Actress for Madeleine Paulson by the Phoenix Film Critics Society and engaging QandAs with a fantastic audience turnout, bolstered by the incredibly organized COVID-19 safeguard requirements by the fearless Amy Ettinger! Thank you Amy! We felt safe, supported and so warmly welcomed. We will never forget the faces of the audience members after our screenings, which will give us the energy and confidence we need to get PEEKY in front of more audiences in 2022. Thank you to ALL of you involved, for your professionalism, organization and kindness.

We were truly overwhelmed to find out that our film, Big Trouble in Little Quartzsite, was a unanimous selection by the judges. And while we were sad to see the festival so hindered by the events of this year, we really appreciated the communication from management, and personal attention to our film. As a team here at LegallyInsaneFilms.com, we highly recommended the Scottsdale Film Fest for supporting and celebrating Southwest culture and the Arizona arts community.

I am very pleased that our film " Freddie's Piano" got selected to the Scottsdale International Film Festival in 2020. The communication was great. I was clearly explained via a phone call why our film was selected. I was also put in touch with potential distributors. I had a great time watching the wonderful films that were selected. Clearly this is an organization that loves and promotes film with grace and responsiveness.

This was my second time screening at the Scottsdale International Film Festival and it was great to return as an alumnus. It's a first rate festival with a great staff and lovely hospitality toward visiting filmmakers. The numerous volunteers are friendly and helpful and the audiences are appreciative and enthusiastic. I recommend it highly!
