Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation (ICYF-DC) announces the below call for application on "Y-SHIRAZ, the 2 nd OIC Youth Capital Film Awards" within
a framework of the international programme "Shiraz-OIC Youth Capital, 2017" in partnership with Fars Province's Hoze Honari (Center for Art).

Shiraz – OIC Youth Capital 2017 is a program designed both for the city and for Iran. “The International OIC Youth Capital Programme” adopted by the 3rd Session of the Islamic Conference of Youth and Sport Ministers (ICYSM) held in Istanbul, the Republic of Turkey, on 5-7 October 2016; and Resolution No.: 8/43-C adopted by the 43rd Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) held in Tashkent, the Republic of Uzbekistan, on 18-19 October 2016. Shiraz – OIC Youth Capital 2017 is selected with the vote of foreign ministers of 56 member states of OIC and cooperation with the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Governorship of Fars Province.

The Y-Shiraz - the 2nd OIC Youth Capital Short Film Festival is the one of the program running in the frame Shiraz- OIC Youth Capital 2017.

The Festival’s Main Objectives:

1- Expanding and valuing short films in three documentary, narrative
(fictional) and animated forms.
2- Highlighting the necessity of developing short films in Islamic
countries.
3- Supporting production of short films which revolve around Peace and
Human Respect.

The mentioned festival will be held in 3 main parts:

1. Fictional or Narrative Short Films Contest
2. Animated Short Films Contest
3. Documentary Short Films Contest

Themes of the mentioned festival:
Subjects of Peace, Human Respect, Human and Moral Values, Avoiding Violence and Condemnation of Extremism constitute the salient and main axes of the festival.

The winners will be invited to the Award Ceremony to be held in Shiraz Hoze Honari (Shiraz Center for Art) in Shiraz, Iran. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered by the organizers of the event.

The Festival’s Best Film: The Festival’s Statue (Cypress Statue, the
Symbol of Shiraz City) - Honorary Diploma- $1000 Cash prize
The Best Documentary Film: Honorary Diploma- $1500 Cash prize
The Best Narrative (Fictional) Film: Honorary Diploma- $1500 Cash prize
The Best Animated Film: Honorary Diploma- $1500 Cash prize

All the works should be uploaded in the form of data file with acceptable formats including mp4, m4v (MPEG-4) – WMV (Windows Media Video) - MKV (Matroska Video Container). Short films with running time ranging from 100 seconds to 15 minutes may be involved in the festival.

Contributions must have a title and include :

a short explanation, using a maximum of 150 characters,
country of origin
country of filming
compeltion date
runtime
shooting format
film language (If a film contains dialogues, it is strongly suggested that English
subtitle be included as the festival is not responsible for providing
it.)

Submissions must not contain material that violates or infringes another’s rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright or license infringement. Submissions must not contain material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene, hateful, defamatory, slanderous or libelous; or that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age; or that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to laws or regulations.
