Our film (The Faith of The Dreamer) is about Macon so having our premiere at the Macon Film Festival was a dream come true! The story behind our documentary had been in the local and regional news some years ago so there was a lot of buzz leading up to the screening. The festival really rolled out the red carpet for our team that weekend and even partnered with a local arts organization to host a panel discussion after our screening with our lead at a gallery nearby. Being able to discuss the film with audiences is a huge part of why we are doing the festival circuit so the panel meant a lot. The MFF team is dedicated and hardworking. In the months, before the festival I felt there was at times a delay in communication (understandable with a small festival team!) but they were much more present and so practically hospitable when the festival was in full swing. They took such incredible care of us— our film is a very personal story so it meant the world to us to feel embraced by the festival team.

Thank you so much, Macon Film Festival— what a world premiere we had with y’all. It was a weekend our team will never forget.

Was very excited to screen my recent short film Golden Years as part of the 2025 program! Very welcoming staff, creative and interesting parties and events to encourage networking among filmmakers, and great projection in the primary venue where we screened. A great time!

  • I had a great time these four days of the festival watching the curated films at Macon Film Festival. I am so glad that there is a 20-year-old independent film festival in the city where I live. For this, I should thank the festival team and the great job they are doing. My short had a chance to be screened this year among other well-crafted shorts. I look forward to returning to this festival with my new projects in the future.
