Kuala Lumpur Independent Film Festival 2017 screening program will include full-length and short films from different countries which coincide with the Festival’s theme. It may be films about people’s achievements, about athletes’ hard work, about the inventions of mankind, about love. The main line - creation - should be presented in every film.

In addition to the competition program, the audience will see films for family and children, modern adaptation of the classics, films about the Asian region.

The round-table discussions are invaluable – they allow you to ask direct questions to sales agents, distributors, producers etc and are also an excellent networking opportunity.

Internet service is provided, although the hotel is very close to the other festival venues.
Guests and festival staff all eat together, so try to use this opportunity for relaxed networking.
If you missed some of the festival movies, it is possible to watch them at the festival’s library.

To attend Kuala Lumpur Independent Film Festival, a mixture of master classes, talks and round-table discussions, you must apply before you leave for the festival to ensure your place.

• There is no action, suit, claim or proceeding pending, affecting or, to the best of my knowledge, threatened against this documentary film or its producers in connection with this documentary film;

• Music and any other third party material clearances and all copyright clearances are my sole responsibility.

• If this project is selected for screening, I grant the festival the right to screen this documentary at the Festival;

• I understand and agree that my film entry, if selected for the Festival, may be used for promotional purposes during the duration of the festival.

Each film entry must be accompanied with an entry fee.

Film Entrants are not required to submit Press Materials for each submission.

Selection & Notification

Submissions are reviewed by the Kuala Lumpur Independent Film Festival Selection Committee under the following criteria.

- Quality of narrative and production values.

- Independent nature of the production.
