This is Lauren Coggiola, from SENDER UNKNOWN. I cannot thank you enough for yesterday. It was truly the most special experience in my life and I am so grateful.
To be completely honest, I was really nervous before the festival- I was nervous to watch myself on the big screen for the first time, I was nervous for strangers to see my work for the first time- it all felt so vulnerable. The week of the festival, my fiance was encouraging me to embrace it all and invite friends to it, which I ended up doing as well.
Even if I didn't win the award, the experience in itself was so special. It is so clear how much time and attention you have put into this- you've set up an experience that is vital for all new filmmakers. You are giving us all the space to see ourselves in the best light possible, and that is one of the best gifts you could ever offer.
I met such lovely people, I had so much fun at the Q&A, the step and repeat and photographers were all so lovely. And holy s***- I cannot get over this GORGEOUS handmade award. I am absolutely blown away by what you made and it means even more.
I was sitting on the couch last night and reflecting on the day, and I know that I have just won not only my first award, but also my most favorite. You've helped give me the confidence to embark on this journey and embrace it all. I look forward to many more celebrations with you. Thank you again for everything- from the deepest places of my heart- I am filled with gratitude.
