The 2nd Annual Halloween International Film Festival returns to Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina this October!

Held on the historic Outer Banks, where the Wright Brothers' first flight took place, the Halloween International Film Festival is a pioneering event for visionary creators, featuring three days (Oct. 26-28) of independent films submitted from around the world, followed by the 4th Annual Halloween Parade of Costumes on Sunday (Oct. 29), where all attending filmmakers are invited as guests of honor.

All Festival film screenings will be shown at RC Theatres Movies 10 in Kill Devil Hills, followed by nightly after parties, as well as costume contests, Scaryoke, special guest Q&A panels, meet and greet sessions, photo ops, and more.

The mission of the Halloween International Film Festival is to promote the artistry of independent films made in the spirit of creativity, support the future of cinema by providing exposure for talented visionary filmmakers, and celebrate a collective passion for Halloween.

Known as the “land of beginnings”, the Outer Banks of North Carolina is the site of America’s first urban legend, The Lost Colony of Roanoke Island, the true story of the first English colonists to land in the new world only to mysteriously vanish without explanation in 1587.

The Outer Banks is also where the infamous pirate Blackbeard was killed and reportedly still haunts the small, isolated island of Ocracoke; and it is where the Wright Brothers launched mankind toward the stars with the first powered flight in 1903, in what is now the town of Kill Devil Hills.

Matt and Sue Artz put together a wonderful experience. Screening was in an indoor theater, with clear visuals and crisp audio. It is a good opportunity for film makers to showcase their work. This is the perfect festival for fans of horror. Matt and Sue both are true fans of the genre and show a large variety of films. I recommend the festival to anyone and I look forward to coming back next year.

An excellent, fun-filled film festival with some stellar film offerings considering this year was the festival's debut. Hotels were nearby, making the entire experience very convenient. Halloween International Film Festival organizers Sue and Matt Artz were extremely nice, thoughtful, and welcoming! Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina is also a very friendly community! BRAVO, HIFF !!! : )

The Halloween International Film Festival was a great festival in their first year. They kept in contact with what was happening with your film, along with any updates that needed to be addressed. And what is better than seeing your project being screened at the movies!

I can't wait to submit future projects to the Halloween International Film Festival in the years to come. Congrats your first year!

For a first year festival, this was incredibly well organized. The communication was the best of any festival I have encountered yet! The scheduling was flawless and they confirmed that my screening time would work with my schedule since I was flying in. Amazing! People flew in from all over the US which was fantastic networking.
Every evening there was a "mixer" or afterparty to chat & network. They also had a Halloween parade the day after the festival for those who
    wanted to stay.
Overall is was a great, fun festival in a great location. They actually screen the films in the cinema which is fantastic!
If you have the chance to attend check out some of the attractions as well. I ventured to the Lost Islsnd of Roanoke! So if you can take an extra day or two, it's worth it!
Overall, one of my favorite festivals yet!
