Grove Film Festival was created to offer a fun relaxed festival atmosphere, showcasing quality independent films, while offering networking opportunities in a fun upbeat setting. The diverse array of films, selected by a committee, includes features and shorts from all genres, as well as documentaries, music videos and screenplays. The festival is hosted in Jersey City New Jersey; with an after party following the screenings, that includes networking for actors and filmmakers.

Our festival will be a one night event, with films screening in the screening room of the Brightside Tavern in Jersey City. Following the screenings will be a chance for filmmakers and actors to mingle, followed by an after party. Food and Beverages are available during the screenings and after.

Awards & Prizes

The Audience Choice Award is determined by the festival attendees voting.

Winning and nominated screenplays will be listed on our website.

Very organized, good communication. Festival Director Larry Rosen and his team are some of the most welcoming and nice people you will meet at a film festival. Happy to have had my screenplay be part of this festival. Will enter again next year!

Being an Official Selections of The Grove Film Festival was a real honor. The organizers and programming team were attentive and in constant communications. Any hour of the night even, 24/7, they were quick to respond to questions. It's so appreciated and made me feel important as a filmmaker. I would like to thank them for creating such a great festival experience.

This was a very nice, welcoming festival. Communication was top notch! Hospitality was awesome, both with the festival director as well as the wonderful host of the venue. There was ample time to network, and we met a lot of wonderful new film makers!

The only thing for us was the venue. It was very nice and the host was more than welcoming, but I feel that maybe this festival is beginning to outgrow the venue. Which is a GREAT thing, and I am so happy for them and their success. I think because it was in a bar (and there was another noisy party upstairs, getting drunk and singing out of tune karaoke) that impaired the sound and perhaps the sound of the equipment available at the bar as well. But that would be our only complaint. We loved all the films, they were touching and compelling and funny, it was impressive to see all that talent.
We are also very happy, pleased and shocked that we won Best Film and I won my second Best Actress Award for the short!
Thanks so much, and I encourage you to submit to this up and coming festival.

    Response from festival:

Normally we screen both downstairs and upstairs so we don't have to compete against the noise of a party. The noisy party upstairs was definitely less than ideal.

Always a pleasure to screen Evil Rising as well as the other fantastic films we screened.

Fabulous communication! My friends went to the festival and said they had a wonderful time - met great people, saw great movies - all within a very charming venue.
