DonQuest is a UK based fantasy and Science fiction based film festival that will take place against the back drop of a bustling comicon.

The main focus of the event is to not only award the talented filmmakers of the UK in a majorly under represented area but to also create an arena where filmmakers can directly interact with fans of the genre and show of their films and take part in panels on independent film making and other topics.

The film festival winners will receive a combination of cash prizes, special screenings of their films and entries into additional festivals.

Awards will be given to the categories:
- Best Short Film;
- Best Web Series;
- Best Directing;
- Best Screenplay;
- Best Leading Male Role;
- Best Leading Female Role;
- Best Newcomer Actor;
- Best Newcomer Actress;
- Best Cinematography;
- Best Editing;
- Best Special and Visual Effects;
- Best Sound Design;
- Best Make-up and Hairstyling;
- Best Costume;
- Best Production Design;
- Best Original Soundtrack;
- Best Animation;
- Best Foreign International Feature Film;
- Best Foreign International Short Film;
- Best Foreign International Web Series;

A final list of prizes will be confirmed early in 2017

Eligibility:
• All films submitted must be made domestically in the UK with the exception of films entered into the best international film category.
• All Films must be submitted to the Film Festival by the 31st March 2017.
• Only films completed after 1st January 2015 will be considered for the festival.
• Any genre and any length of film will be considered – anything under 45 minutes is classified as a short, anything over 45 minutes is classified as a feature.

Premiere Policy:
• For feature-length films, though we do not insist on a premiere, we may not consider films that have some circulation in the UK already - for example, if they have toured other UK film festivals. Please contact the Film Festival office if you would like clarification on your film if it has already screened or is going to be screened in the UK.
• For short films, we do not have a premiere policy.
