Se invita a realizadores, artistas audiovisuales, coreógrafxs, bailarinxs, artistas, creativxs, profesionales y estudiantes chilenxs, latinoamericanxs y del mundo, a postular sus cortometrajes de danza, para ser parte de la 5ta edición de Bestias Danzantes Festival Cine de Danza.
Serán considerados y bienvenidos todos los cortometrajes de danza, de cualquier estilo y género (cualquier estilo de danza y formato cinematográfico), de una duración entre 1 minuto y 15 minutos (créditos incluidos).
El plazo de inscripción se extiende desde el 16 de agosto al 17 de septiembre de 2021. Los cortometrajes chilenos que se encuentren en etapa de postproducción al cierre de esta convocatoria podrán inscribir un corte preliminar. En caso de ser seleccionados, el festival determinará el plazo de entrega del cortometraje final.
Queremos sorprendernos, que los creadores se atrevan a explorar nuevas formas estéticas, narrativas, hibridadas y que se abran nuevas posibilidades para este género.

▬▬▬▬▬▬ CONDICIONES
• Los postulantes deberán ser mayores de 18 años.
• Los cortometrajes deben corresponder al género de Cine de Danza (Cinedanza, Screendance, Danza para la pantalla). Registros de performances o registros de obras de danza quedan fuera de esta convocatoria y del proceso de selección.
• Los cortometrajes de danza deberán tener una duración entre 1 minuto y 15 minutos (incluyendo los créditos)*. Los cortometrajes que excedan la duración quedarán automáticamente fuera de la convocatoria y del proceso de selección.
* Cortometrajes de 1 minuto: la duración de 1 minuto no incluye créditos, esto implica que los créditos pueden ser incluidos a partir del segundo 61 del cortometraje.
• Se aceptarán cortometrajes de danza terminados después del 1 de enero del 2019, que no hayan sido exhibidos anteriormente en Chile ni en salas de la Región Metropolitana (Chile), ni en canales de televisión, ni distribuidas en Blu-ray o DVD. Los cortometrajes con fecha de producción anterior a esa fecha quedarán automáticamente descalificados y fuera de la convocatoria y del proceso de selección. Tampoco serán aceptados aquellos cortometrajes que ya fueron postulados a las versiones anteriores del festival.
• Los cortometrajes deben postularse a solo una categoría. En caso que postules a más de una, solo será considerada la primera categoría visibilizada por la plataforma FilmFreeway.
• Deberá incluirse una copia de previsualización del cortometraje, a través de la plataforma (FilmFreeway, Vimeo, Youtube, página web, con contraseña, opción de descarga activada y sin fecha de caducidad).
• El postulante deberá adjuntar en la plataforma FilmFreeway, (i) 3 fotografías digitales de alta calidad, pudiendo ser imágenes fijas del cortometraje, de un mínimo de 300 dpi, (ii) Bio de el o la realizadora y/o equipo realizador, (iii) trailer del cortometraje (en caso que cuentes con uno), y opcionalmente, (iv) contacto en las redes sociales de el o la realizadora y/o equipo realizador y/o proyecto (Facebook, Instagram)
• Incluir los créditos del equipo realizador y creativoen la postulación (incluyendo Directorxs, coreógrafxs, bailarinxs, músicxs, y Compañía de Danza, en caso que aplique). ¡Queremos visualizar todo el equipo tras tu cortometraje!
• Los cortometrajes que contengan textos o diálogos, en un idioma distinto al Español, deberán contar con una copia subtitulada al Español.
• Los realizadores participando a la categoría "Mejor Film Estudiante" deberán incluir su tarjeta o credencial de estudiante vigente o alguna otra prueba de inscripción (Colegio o Universidad). Para el caso de estudiantes chilenos, la tarjeta de estudiante vigente es suficiente. Si no se adjunta el o los documentos de verificación a la postulación en la plataforma FilmFreeway, el cortometraje quedará automáticamente descalificado y fuera de esta convocatoria y del proceso de selección.
• Cada realizador (a) / postulante podrá postular como máximo 2 cortometrajes en el contexto de esta convocatoria. En caso que el o la realizadora / postulante postule más de 2 cortometrajes, solo serán considerados los últimos dos postulados y el resto de los cortometrajes quedará automáticamente fuera de esta convocatoria y del proceso de selección.
▬▬▬▬▬▬ OTRAS CONSIDERACIONES
• El o la postulante manifiesta ser el o la autora, o bien, el o la única titular de los derechos de los cortometrajes que se presentan al festival y aseguran tener la totalidad de los derechos involucrados en ellos: El o la postulante, institución o equipo realizador postulante, asegura y garantiza tener todos los derechos necesarios, para autorizar, presentar y exhibir el cortometraje postulado, incluyendo todo el material visual, musical, de apoyo y otros que sea entregado al Festival; manteniendo a Bestias Danzantes indemne y fuera de cualquier reclamo de cualquier persona en relación a uso y/o derechos de propiedad intelectual, derechos de autor y/o conexos asociados a la exhibición y difusión del cortometraje, y sus materiales de apoyo, presentado a esta convocatoria.
• El o la postulante, al momento de suscribirse a esta convocatoria, estará aceptando las condiciones estipuladas en estas bases, autorizando y concediendo los derechos para (i) la exhibición de su cortometraje, online y/o presencial, sin límite de funciones en el contexto del festival (Exhibiciones días del Festival y exhibiciones que realice Bestias Danzantes en conjunto con sus colaboradores y Co-presentadores internacionales y nacionales) durante el 2021, 2022 y primer semestre 2023 y (ii) para la utilización, por parte de Bestias Danzantes, del material suministrado por el o la postulante, incluyendo música, video, fotografías e imágenes fijas con fines de promoción del festival Bestias Danzantes y su promoción futura en cualquiera de sus publicaciones impresas, electrónicas o audiovisuales (incluyendo página web del festival)
• Bestias Danzantes no transferirá ningún cortometraje que haya sido postulado, y no seleccionado, a terceras partes, y no hará uso de ningún material asociado a su postulación.
▬▬▬▬▬▬ CORTOMETRAJES DE DANZA SELECCIONADOS
• Los formatos de exhibición son H264 1920 X 1080 (HD), H264 720 x1080 (solo en caso especial) o Apple ProRes. El cortometraje con el formato requerido debe estar disponible para descarga desde la plataforma FilmFreeway, o a través de enlace privado con contraseña y opción de descarga activada (Vimeo o Youtube).
• Los cortometrajes que tengan palabras escritas o habladas, distintas al español, deberán contar con una copia subtitulada al español. El festival se hará cargo de traducir y/o subtitular cortometrajes solo de manera excepcional.
• Bestias Danzantes no transferirá ningún cortometraje que haya sido seleccionado, a terceras partes que no sean integrantes del programa de Bestias Danzantes y sus actividades.

All filmmakers, audiovisual artists, choreographers, dancers, artists, creatives, professionals and students from Chile, Latin America and the world are invited to submit their short dance films to be part of the 5th edition of Bestias Danzantes Dance Film Festival!
All dance short films, of any style and genre (any dance style and film format), between 1 minute and 15 minutes in length (credits included) will be considered and welcome.
Submissions are open from August 16 to September 17, 2021.
We want to be surprised, that filmmakers and creators dare to explore new aesthetic, narrative and hybrid forms and that new possibilities open up for this genre.

▬▬▬▬▬▬ SPECIFICATIONS
• Participants must be 18 years of age or older to apply
• Short films must correspond to the genre of Dance Cinema (Cinemadance, Screendance, Dance for the Screen). Performance recordings or recordings of dance works are excluded from this call and the selection process.
• Dance short film must have a length between 1 minute and 15 minutes (credits included)*. Short films that exceed 15 minutes will be automatically excluded from this call and selection process.
* 1 minute short films: 1 minute of lenght without credits, this implies that credits can be included from the second 61 of the short film.
• Dance short films completed after January 1, 2019, that have not been previously screened in Chile, neither in theaters in the Metropolitan Region (Chile), nor on television channels, nor distributed on Blu-ray or DVD, will be accepted. Short films with a production date prior to that date will be automatically disqualified and excluded from the call for entries and the selection process. Short films that have already been submitted to previous versions of the festival will not be accepted.
• Dance short films must be submitted to one category. In case the short film is submitted to more than one category, will be consider the first category displayed by FilmFreeway platform.
• A preview copy of the short film must be included, through the platform (FilmFreeway, Vimeo, Youtube, website, with password, download option activated and no expiration date).
• The submission must include in the FilmFreeway platform, (i) 3 high quality digital photographs, which can be stills of the short film, with a minimum of 300 dpi, (ii) Bio of the filmmaker and/or filmmaking team, (iii) trailer of the short film (in case you have one), and optionally, (iv) contact in the social networks of the filmmaker and/or filmmaking team and/or project (Facebook, Instagram).
• Include in your submission the credits of the filmmaking and creative team (including directors, choreographers, dancers, musicians, and dance company, if applicable). We want to visualize the whole team behind your short film!
• Filmmakers submitting to “Bestias Danzantes Best Student Film” category, must include a current, valid student ID or proof of enrollment with your submission (School or University). In the case of Chilean students, a valid student card is sufficient. In case a verification document is not attached to the application (in FilmFreeway platform), the short film will automatically be excluded from this call and the selection process.
• Each filmmaker / applicant can submit a maximum of 2 short films in the context of this open call. In case the filmmaker submits more than 2 short films, only the last two ones submitted will be considered and the rest of the short films will be automatically excluded from this call and the selection process.
▬▬▬▬▬▬ OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
• The applicant declares to be the author or the sole owner of the rights of the short film submitted to the festival and assures that he/she has all the rights involved in them: The applicant, institution or applicant filmmaking team, assures and guarantees to have all the necessary rights, to authorize, present and screen the short film submitted, including all visual, musical, support and other material that is shared to the Festival; keeping Bestias Danzantes harmless and out of any claim from any person in relation to use and/or intellectual property rights, copyright and/or related rights associated with the screening and dissemination of the short film, and its support materials, submitted to this call.
• The applicant, when subscribing to this call, will be accepting the conditions stipulated in these rules, authorizing and granting the rights for (i) the screening of his/her short film, online and/or physically, without limit of screenings in the context of the festival (Festival day screenings and screenings held by Bestias Danzantes together with its international and national collaborators and co-presenters) during 2021, 2022 and first semester 2023 and (ii) for the use, by Bestias Danzantes, of the material provided by the applicant, including music, video, photographs and still images for the purpose of promoting the Bestias Danzantes festival and its future promotion in any of its printed, electronic or audiovisual publications (including the festival's website).
• Bestias Danzantes will not share any short film that has been submitted, and not selected, to third parties, and will not make use of any material associated with its submission.
▬▬▬▬▬▬ SELECTED DANCE SHORT FILMS
• The screening formats are H264 1920 X 1080 (HD), H264 720 x1080 (only in special cases) or Apple ProRes. The short film in the required format must be available for download from the FilmFreeway platform, or through a private link with password and download option enabled (Vimeo, Youtube or Web page).
• Short films containing texts or dialogues, other than Spanish must have a copy subtitled in Spanish. The festival will translate and/or subtitle short films only in exceptional cases.
• Bestias Danzantes will not transfer any selected short film and / or its supporting material, to third parties other than members of the Bestias Danzantes program or its complementary activities.
