To be GREAT, you first have to be unafraid that you might be BAD.
We're looking for WEIRD, WILD, RIDICULOUS and OUTRAGEOUS short films.
We love #LowBudget and #NoBudget short films.

INVERTED SUBMISSION FEES
From past festivals, we noticed it was easier to get accepted the earlier you submitted (when it was cheaper), yet as the submission period progressed the fees would increase though your chance of getting accepted decreased. This feels very unfair.

Since we preview films as they come in, we've decided to reverse our submission fee policy.
• Submit early/higher fee - Greater chance you get accepted
• Submit late/cheap - Lesser chance you get accepted

This is an experiment, but we hope it helps take the sting out of having your film be rejected.

Cool film fest for alternative films. I wish I could've made it to the actual event, but it looked like a good time online.

I've had a film in this festival twice overs the past few years. Good fun...interesting programing, great hosts, and free popcorn!

Overall, Bad Film Fest is "bad" as in good. This is a very DIY festival that doesn't take itself too seriously which is unique in the stuffy film festival circuit. They ask for DVD which was odd and a bit of a hassle, but it fits in with the underground nature of the fest. Although the tech was lo-fi, Bad Film Festival did a bad a** thing by streaming the festival via Facebook Live which I wished more festivals would do. I wasn't able to attend, but I did get to watch and hear the crowd's response to my film online which was awesome!

I really had fun time since it's my first time going to a film festival. Also seeing my short film "Wolf Mother: Hunted" on the big screen.

Very warm and friendly hosts showing a really interesting assortment of fresh and funny films. The billing really lives up to the name and I enjoyed seeing the work submitted as well as meeting other filmmakers.

There were a couple of blips which could be addressed in future festivals such as better marking of the facility to attract last minute film viewers, but our film was so well received and the organizers very responsive to emails that I've raved about the festival since our film screened on Friday.

    Looking forward to next year.
