Welcome to the premiere fliXfest Film Festival. fliXfest's mission is to celebrate diverse storytelling through the magic of cinema. From thought-provoking documentaries to engaging features, shorts, and music videos spanning genres, ethnicities, and subject matters offering a rich tapestry of human experiences. fliXfest is dedicated to showcasing films from around the world while highlighting filmmakers from New Jersey.

fliXfest is hosted at the Teaneck Cinemas, complete with a concession stand serving popcorn and your favorite snacks.

fliXfest features Asbury Shorts USA, New York City's longest running non-competitive short film exhibition and travel show. Screening globally honored and premiering shorts at venues across the US and some international sites.

Whether you're a film enthusiast or simply looking for a captivating experience, fliXfest promises to entertain, educate, and inspire. Join us as we come together to celebrate the art of filmmaking and the power of storytelling through this extraordinary cinematic event.

Partial proceeds from the event will be donated to various charities including Fair Lawn Food Pantry and Veterans, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and Guitar For Parkinsons.

The Festival will consider films that are
Short duration up to 20 minutes
Feature length up to 1.5 hours
We accept and encourage films worldwide, we also look to support the growth of New Jersey Filmmaking.
All films should be subtitled if not in English (If no instructions to choose a language film will be disqualified).

The format should be DCP (Digital Cinema Package) and Quicktime ProRes; or an On-Line Screener for pre-screening. If chosen for final judging a high-quality region-free DVD or Blu-Ray disc or Hi-Res Digital File (mp4 or mov) must be sent for Festival screening.

LIABILITY: Filmmaker shall indemnify and hold Fair Lawn fliXfest Film Festival harmless from and against any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees and costs of the court) which may be incurred because of any claim in connection with the Film involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and/or loss of or damage to the screening videos submitted. In particular, the Filmmaker expressly warrants it has obtained all necessary copyright clearances for original works of authorship used in the Film.

REPRODUCTION AGREEMENT: Submission of an entry gives the festival permission to have accepted work exhibited, photographed, locally telecast in part, broadcast on the internet if we cannot hold the Festival in person, and reproduced either in part or whole, for exhibition purposes.

This competition is open to U.S. and International entries.

The maximum film age is 24 months (waived for this first year). No repeat entries. If a work is selected for public screening entrants are contractually obligated to provide an exhibition copy suitable for screening and cannot withdraw their film from the festival.

Please note we do not pay screening fees. Only finalists are notified in advance that their work has been selected to be part of the Festival.
To prevent any bias fliXfest does not waive the fee for any submissions.
