1. Entries for "An Evening of Short Films" are open for everyone. Participants under the legal age must submit a consent letter from their parent or guardian.
2. The Short film can be based on any subject, concept or genre but of African origin.
3. The short film must be in either French, English or Native African language, with sub-titles in either French or English.
4. Short films must be suitable for the general audience, without profanity and explicit scenes.
5. The total runtime of the Short Film, including opening & closing credits, should be a minimum of 7 minutes and a maximum of 13 minutes.
6. All content used in the short film must be either owned or licensed. If any copyrighted material is used in the film, the participant must have the permission and share a copy with the organizers of "An Evening of Short Films Festival".
7. The Last Date for Submissions is 11th September, 2026.
8. Short films must be uploaded through our FilmFreeway account available at https://filmfreeway.com/eveningofshortfilms Please note that selected films will be required to download for screening purposes only
9. Multiple entries from the same participant are accepted, but each film must be accompanied by a separate entry.
10. Flaming Hypermedia reserves the rights to copy or use the material submitted by the participants in any form, online or offline, for the screening’s promotional and archival purposes. Note that your entire short film will never be shared with anyone or uploaded online without your permission.
11. The short films that are selected for final screening will not be allowed to withdraw under any circumstances until the festival is over.
12. Selected filmmakers are required to participate in our short film market connect for networking and distribution opportunities. See festival schedule for dates.
13. Either the producer, director or screenwriter of the selected short films for screening must be available to interact with the audience at the main event of "An Evening of Short Films Festival".
