We believe that films and documentaries about social and ethical issues can educate us as professionals. That these productions can contribute on making the world a better place and have the power to help us discuss, observe and reflect.
This forms the basis of Ethics Filmservice. Ethics Filmservice is a video on demand platform used by organisations, academies and professionals working with social work and welfare, healthcare, environment, philosophy and human rights issues. They watch the films for educational use, either alone or together with their colleagues, students or management team for example.
Ethics Filmservice is unique because our aim is not only to watch films but to discuss and learn from them as well. Integrated in the platform is an online audio tool so users can schedule an online screening with other users and discuss the film. Users are also able to contact the filmmaker (after given consent), so they can be invited to take part in the discussion if desirable. Lastly, the platform offers a tool for users to select ‘fragments’ of films when they want to discuss a particular scene.
We are always looking for new films to include on our platform. Our focus lies on short/mid-length documentaries about socially relevant issues; showing stories about (health)care and welfare, culture and society, human and psyche, philosophy and ethics, nature and climate.
It is our aim to connect (independent) filmmakers with their audience.
The platform launched September 2022, in a Dutch version only at the moment: www.ethicsfilmservice.com
The platform will be available in English language in the near future.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us by e-mail anytime: contact@ethicsfilmservice.com
Ethics Filmservice distributes 25% of its subscription fee revenue across all films (i.e. its right holders) that are included on the platform. Payment takes place yearly at the end of each year. When selected, you will sign an agreement with Ethics Filmservice for your film to be included on the platform. Ethics Filmservice is based on social entrepreneurship. We all benefit and together we make the world a better place.
