I unfortunately was not able to attend due to scheduling, but communication with the festival was great, they seem to be doing something very cool out there in Eastern Oregon, and I would have loved to be able to attend, if I wasn't out of the country. A festival to watch, for sure, and worth applying to without a doubt.

EOFF is in a category of its own, a completely unique film festival in the best possible way. First off, my film PICTURE JASPER had a packed, standing-room only audience very receptive to the film, which was extra impressive considering the festival is held in a small town. Not every film festival brings out such a good crowd. Otherwise, there is a homespun hospitality that is quite nice - breakfast enthusiasts will love the festival! We had one scheduled filmmaker breakfast and one impromptu filmmaker breakfast on the last day and both were treats, and great ways to get to know the fellow filmmakers and eat some great food, plus hang out in beautiful Oregon countryside. It's a small enough festival where it's plausible to meet and get to know everyone there, yet large enough that that's still 25-40 people from all over who are interesting and established filmmakers. Chris and the team couldn't have been nicer in making us all feel welcome, it feels like an intimate family affair which may be a little relaxed for some people used to more large-scale fests, but if you go in knowing that is the atmosphere, you will have an absolute blast. I would definitely submit again to EOFF!

I had an amazing time in La Grande! It's a beautiful little town with incredible hospitality, inspiring programming, and a truly relaxed environment to hang out with fellow filmmakers. They treat artists very well. Lots of great events outside of the screenings too. I was really impressed by the quality of the bands that played the after parties every night. I can't rave about this festival enough! Well worth the trip.
