Welcome to the England International Film Festival, formerly known as the White Deer International Film Festival. To celebrate our rebrand, along with an exciting festival in November 2024, we will be offering cash prizes for the first time!

A diverse panel of judges are involved in our festival and include award winning industry professionals. Films that enter our festival competition have a chance to win multiple IMDB-qualifying awards and for the first time we are introducing cash prizes.

Awards & Prizes

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR ENTRY:

For the chance of winning the cash prize + live screening of your film enter the Best Film category. This is £750 prize awarded to the Best Film and £250 to the runner up. Cash prizes will be paid directly to the submitter.

We also have a variety of technical and genre categories. Winners of these will receive a laurel and online screening as part of the festival annual event. PLEASE NOTE, winners of technical and genre categories will NOT be screened at our live event.

Our award structure is laid out below:

AWARD WINNER:
You will receive this notification if you have won one of our Best Film, Technical or Genre categories. Award winners will be screened online in the run up to the annual event. PLEASE NOTE! If you have won a Technical or Genre Category, you will NOT be screened at our in person annual event.

FINALIST:
You will receive this notification if you are one of the 10 Best Film Nominations. If you receive this, you WILL be screened at our annual event with a chance to win awards and the cash prize.

NOMINEE:
You will receive this notification if you are nominated for a technical or genre category. You have a chance of featuring on our online screening and a laurel for your category. PLEASE NOTE! If you are nominated for a Technical or Genre Category, you will NOT be screened at our in person annual event.

NOT SELECTED:
Unfortunately if you receive this notification, you have not won an award at our festival this time.

Rules & Terms

GENERAL RULES
Firstly, please read our 'AWARDS & PRIZES' section carefully before submitting!

For the chance of winning the cash prize + live screening of your film enter the Best Film category. This is £750 prize awarded to the Best Film and £250 to the runner up. Cash prizes will be paid directly to the submitter.

To submit a film to our festival, you must have created the project yourself, own the rights or have permission from the owner of the content to submit the film to us.

All films must be submitted in a digital format.

Non-English films must have English subtitles.

WE DO NOT ACCEPT:
1. Amateur videos i.e. films with a poor production standard (bad sound, lack of subtitles/
captions for non-English films, video resolution less than 720p HD).
2. Pornography.
3. Scripts

We also reserve the right to disqualify films that feature a significant political or religious agenda.

    Firstly congratulations on receiving a nomination for your movie Don't Choke, we enjoyed watching it!

    Sorry to hear that you have had a negative experience submitting to our film festival. We did want to clarify that you should have received two emails from us, one announcing your nomination status with your laurel attached and the other a response to your query about screening?

    All of our winners were promoted on our social channels on the 31st August.

    Whilst we did say that we would not be screening films this year, we are looking to hold a screening event in 2024 as part of our film festival's rebrand, which you are more than welcome to attend.

    Again, apologies for any confusion and best of luck of your filmmaking journey!
