Elijah Chandler is an award-winning filmmaker and storyteller with a passion for emotionally honest, character-driven narratives. He works full-time in the public education sector (OUSD), but writes and directs film projects independently.
His journey began in his teens, writing novels, producing short films, and completing his first feature while still in high school. Since graduating from Biola University with a degree in Cinema and Media Arts, he has worked at Panavision, freelanced as a director, cinematographer, and editor, and served as an in-house documentarian for the Salvation Army.
Elijah’s latest short film Morning After has screened at numerous international festivals, earning recognition for its cinematography, editing, and drama. He continues to develop future projects while pursuing festival opportunities and long-form development.
"The best thing we do is tell stories. If you want to be a filmmaker, the best thing you can bring to the world is your own story. If there is something very personal to you, something that you have a singular connection to, there are people all over the planet that will relate to it. The mistakes happen when you try to figure out what everyone likes, because the only thing you can be sure of is what you like. The reality is, what you like ends up being what a lot of people like because we’re all going through a very similar journey.” - Darren Aronofsky
Art heals. It identifies pain, trauma, and shame unlike anything else, because it helps us create those connections we could not have seen on our own.
