Emir Yener is a director and producer based between Istanbul, Cologne, and London, and the founder of Pigeon Pictures. A graduate of the University of Westminster, he began his career assisting renowned directors and cinematographers before moving into directing. His debut short, DoubleDown, a psychological portrait of addiction and power dynamics, screened internationally and won several awards. His latest film, Zugzwang, is currently on the festival circuit. Emir’s work blurs the line between emotional realism and psychological abstraction, often exploring memory, identity, and inner conflict. Alongside his films, he directs music videos and commercials for global clients, while expanding Pigeon Pictures into a multidisciplinary studio for innovative visual storytelling.
