Dian Weys is a South African filmmaker. He studied BCom Law at the University of the Free State, holds an MA in Film Studies cum laude from the University of Cape Town and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Groningen.
He is the writer and director of three short films, "Accelerate" (2017), "Farmhouse" (2021) and "Bergie" (2022), which have screened at over a hundred film festivals in total, including Clermont-Ferrand, Tampere, Palm Springs, Message to Man and ZINEBI Bilbao, with "Bergie" winning the Tanit d'Argent for Best Short Film at the Carthage Film Festival.
His latest short film, "Vultures" (2025), was selected in the Official Short Film Competition at the 78th Cannes Film Festival.
