Claudia Tavares was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Is a PHD student at Instituto de Artes/UERJ, Rio de Janeiro, MA in Image and Communication, Goldsmiths College, London, and MA Visual Languages, EBA/UFRJ, Rio de Janeiro.
Uses the languages of photography, video and installation and is interested in the many possible relations between art and nature.

Won the Faperj Nota10 Scholarship, and the PhD Scholarship in 2016. Her recent project “A Garden in Forest” was selected to be exhibited in Palácio das Artes, Belo Horizonte and in Paço Imperial, Rio de Janeiro, both in 2018.
Worked as assistant director in the award-winning brazilian film Central Station, directed by Walter Salles.
Lives and works in Rio de Janeiro.
